There has actually been only one time in my life that I was out and someone offered to buy me a drink. I really didn't think anything of it at the time because it was 21st birthday and one of my friends was running around telling everyone in the club that it was my birthday and someone should buy me a drink. In retrospect, I think that the person that bought me the drink was actually one of the security guards from our school.

I will thank them, and accept the drink. If it's a man, i will also make sure that my VERY LARGE WEDDING RING is in plain view. My engagement ring is small, and filled with diamonds, rather than having one big one, but my wedding band is about 3/4 of an inch wide, and one would have to be blind not to notice it, and if they were blind, I'd put my left hand on the table, so if they "grabbed my hand" they'd feel there was a ring there. LOL I don't think there would be a question in anyone's mind that I'm not single, after that.

Hi jugs, it depends on who the person is. I will thank the person but will not take the drink offered for sure. I'm quite alert on this for there were so many dreadful cases happened before after taking the free drink from unfamiliar person. The preys were ransacked during their deep sleep after drinking the beverage that mixed with sleeping potion. These undesirable cases mostly happened on the public transport
I prefer to buy my own drink if going with friends. It's nice to pay dutch for we don't like to take advantage of from one another. Since we are all working women, it's affordable for us to split the expenses of course. I dislike my friends to spend extra money as well
Happy posting

I have not had a stranger offer to buy me a drink since I was 12 years old. I was out with one of my sisters friends and a guy told my waitress to bring me a shot of tequila, but I informed the waitress that I was not old enough. I told the guy as well.

I would not take a drink from a stranger because you never know what they really want from you. I buy my drinks or the friends that I am with buy them but never a stranger.

If I have become a bit close to them and have a good opinion on them, I will allow them to buy a drink but I will reciprocate the same by buying any other item for them or pay next time. I feel money is hard earned for anyone. Why anyone should spend for others? At the same time we should respect others's feelings also. So just reciprocate in any manner.

Well it all depends om who is offering .If its someone I know then I would accept provided there wont be any strings attached. You really have to be carefull how you take drinks from. There are some persons too who will slip things into your drink so you need to be carefull .Great discussion though and I hope they it will serve to warn young ladies about taking drinks from men they dont know

hi jugs!
Nope, I don't accept drinks from strangers especially in bars. If I have company with me they will not allow that.
Just the other day I watched "The Insider" and saw the news about a girl who was offered a drink in a bar and got raped afterwards, she was alone and was drag outside the bar. Everyone thought she was drunk and the person who was dragging him was his boyfriend. Then the girl disappeared and her family was searching for him until a CCTV was shown, there she was, captured by her perpetrator. So sad.
I am not being exaggerated, but it really happened, with a single drink from a stranger you can be in a great danger.
