I'm assuming you are talking about using real flower petals, as opposed to those from silk flowers. First, I would press the flower petals that I wanted to use. If you haven't pressed flowers to dry them before, it's really easy. This link has good directions: http://crafts.lovetoknow.com/wiki/Flower_Crafts When the flower petals are dry, very carefully apply a little thinned down clear polyurethane, or thinned down clear nail polish (the kind with hardener in it) with a soft brush. They will be brittle at this point, so you have to use a gentle hand applying it. Let them dry thoroughly. When one side is totally dry, flip them over and do the other side. An alternative method is to dip the flower petal into polyurethane and let dry, this is harder because if you stick a pin in it, it will more than likely be permanently glued to it. I don't know if they still make 'Mod Podge' but that would likely work as well, as well as using a light spray mist of polyurethane, or an acrylic sealer. Polyurethane comes in flat or shiny for whatever look you are trying to get. Adding a coat of hardener will make them more resilient and still keep them looking nice. It's no fun to do a project and then have it disintegrate! You could also do the page, and then laminate the whole page after you get it arranged the way you want it. When laminated it will also hold up well. To attatch the petals to the page, use rubber cement. Have fun!! Sounds like it's going to be pretty when you're done!
