Definitely the keypad one! and not the qwerty one. Why? well, habit I think. At first, I think touchscreen phone will suit me and it looks way much cooler than the old keypad phone. But after time to time, I find it hard to use the touchscreen, it is not flexible, not to mention a lot of lagging if your phone processor is low, and the most important thing is that I can't blindly write a text message *sigh*. The qwerty one? I have tried it, but I still can't use it well. Maybe my hand still don't get the position of the keypad well I think. Well, for now I use two phone. The touchscreen one I use as my business phone, and the old Nokia 6100 series I use to send text message to my friends.

I have found that touch screans will last longer then a keyboard. I have had both and it doesn't take me long to break it because I tend to text real fast. Same as I do when typing on a keyboard. At first I loved the full keyboard, just because it was there and a lot easier then the numberpad. But, it would get its share of abuse by me. Touch screans seem to handle better, and don't require a whole lot of effort. If it sticks I simply creat friction under my fingertips to incress blood flow to them so the touch is picked up.

If I'm not driving, either touchscreen or keypad is fine with me. However, when driving I'd rather use keypad for texting as it is easier, and I do not have to look at the phone so often like when using touchscreen.

Whenever there are new gadgets in the market people take time to get used to it. I watch people using it and it seems funny. For me how can u use fingers I mean imagine if your hands are dirty the phone will get dirty too. I am really touche' about the cleaniess of these smart phones etc

I am in the same boat as you are Gorillafootprints. I drive a used skid steer and texting or calling in that thing with a touch screen is crazy, I am always hitting the wrong things, its to easy to make a mistake. But the keypad is more for me.

I have both and have used both, but I do prefer the qwerty keyboard over the touch screen as I can type faster and I can hit the riht keys, whereas the touch screen can be sensitve to the touch, and I seem to hit the wrong keys at times. To me the werty keyboard is much easier to use, and I use it when I have tested my daughter, however, we haven't been texting lately, but we both have a qwerty keyboard in our phones, so it does make it much easier for both of us. Take care, and happy mylotting.

I always prefer keypad for texting. I liked the touchscreen phones because they are newly designed with great features. But I feel a lot of problem when I used it for texting. My fingers are long enough to press two or three keys at a time. So I feel much better to use keypad phones instead of touch screen phones for texting.

holla, in the context of texting and you in a hurry i 100% highly prefer the keypad way because you can easily control your letters. while in touchscreen you almost doesnt type a lettters in a hurry because of its sensotive touch.
