very few people have the time to watch Test cricket and the development of skills as you say. This is the age of the instant thing and T20 is just that- short term wholesome entertainment. It has given rise to a entirely new skill set and has brought about a revolution in hitting and fielding styles in cricket.

After watching years and years of cricket, and having witnessed the evolution of cricket particularly in the last 5 years, I have concluded that the kills of cricketers have evolved, and has not diminished. I think in the past, the types of shots played and the types of bowling were quite mundane. Orthodox shots and lines and lengths were the norm and over used. Now as a consequence of t20, the shots played are far more unique, exciting to watch, and the bowlers have much more variety in terms of the lengths bowled.

i do not agree what my friend has said because in recent time cricket became so facinating that everybody want to be cricketer so we can see around us lots of lots unskilled player who only want to hit the ball to attract the viewers and they are not concerning about their performance so this fas t cricket or t20 format has killed the skill of the player who can emerge well

I don't think that T20 cricket killing real cricket. But we are having every Year IPL and World cup in 2009 & 2010 and also ICL,so because of so many T20 matches, people got adjusted with this type of of format, so they may not like One day and Test matches. So, we should play all type of format of games and with some gaps.

Yeah T20 cricket has just to do with business, It has nothing to do with sport nor with its spirit. The shots have come down to something we tell in slang in India as 'Lapeda'. The ball must hit bat in anyway and must hit boundary and no one is interested whether the shot meant to be like that. The essence of class and style is missing in the playing of the game inside the field

No. I don't agree with you. See every form of cricket has its own speciality. Apart from hitting the ball and taking the wicket, there is a lot of mental game going on in the players minds. They have to be mentally strong and able to act swiftly in T20. If T20 is only about hitting, which people in India have practised a lot in IPL, why did they lose the T20 world cup?

hello mates......... i am die heart fan of test cricket. But we are in a world of globalization and the better way to take cricket to world is by T20. You just can't say that T20 is killing the real cricket skills because as the T20 evolved the run rates in ODI and Test matches gone in green.... and coming to real cricketing skills i agree in toto that Test player is at highest level... So, see T20 just as a new face of cricket that packets entertainment and globalizing the sport.... thanks..........

Yes you are right. In T20 a batsman has to send the to ball to the boundary and for bowlers they have to just stop the run.I have seen they never gone for classical shot.
