Hehehee, well, that is how it goes. My cats would do the same for sure. I don't even put up a real tree because they would eat it and climb on it. But, having them is worth it. Christmas is about Jesus anyway. Right? Thanks for responding to another of my posts.

When times were tough and I wanted to do something different with the kids, we strung popcorn and cranberries. We also made paper chains to hang around the room. Making and hanging the paper chains was something that I did as a child. The kids loved doing this more than they did stringing the popcorn.

That is so nice. I never knew about stringing cranberries. That must have looked like red beads. Thanks for sharing all that with me.

No have never done it, but if I did it would not last long as all the birds would have a feast on it.

Hehhehe, you are funny, but that is true. I haven't done it either, as my cats would eat it all up. Especially my little one, what an appetite. She loves pancakes, and grabs them right out of my mouth. Well, ya gotta love them to put up with that, huh? heheheh. Thanks for answering my post.

I don't, but I've always wanted to. Someday I want to string the tree with just popcorn and cranberries. I know it sounds silly, but I think it would great to just get a group of friends together and string the decorations around the fire. With plenty of eggnog and holiday cookies for snacks!

We've never stringed popcorn on our christmas tree. I remember we would always make the string popcorn at school close to Christmas though at craft time. I just brought it home and threw it into my closet to rot lol..

I have never done it. It's not a real tradition over here. We have only just got our tree up today and we just put tinsel and baubles on the tree and candy canes. We have bought a fir tree this year but sometimes do have plastic ones.

I never have but my Mom talks about when she was younger they used to do that. She said it was nice to gather around and string popcorn and of course there was always some that was eaten. Didn't manage to get on the string. She said the conversation that there was beautiful and it was a nice evening of gathering together and appreciating each other and talk of the past and future as the popcorn was strung. She said it was nice.

Tried it once when I was a kid. I ate more popcorn than we could get strung so there wasn't enough to put on the tree. Then we got a dog and it wasn't even an option if we didn't want to lose half our tree to him.

I do like cooking them myself on the hob as the ones in the machine are low fat but also means sugar doesn't stick to them and I miss the oily taste anyway!

No, I haven't. I'm worried that dust, mold or bacteria might form on them.
