I just thought youall would like to know that Thanksgiving went a lot better than what I expected. My bil was in his usual bad mood but at least he didn't say anything derogatory to me and I was glad of that. They ordered the food from a local tea room and it was great! My sister asked my bil one time if he wanted some cranberry sauce and he said "No!" She told him to say "No thank you" but he wouldn't do it. I think he could have been a little nicer about it. He doesn't pay her any attention, anyway. The dogs didn't bark very much and I'm glad of that. It's very hard to talk when they're carrying on so, as I'm sure those of you who own dogs and keep them in the house, myself included, know. My nephew, his wife, and little boy were a lot later getting there than usual. I would have liked to have seen them but I stayed there for quite a while since I don't go up there much, anyway, and I felt like I might have worn out my welcome and I needed to get home. My sister was wanting to go lay down, as her back hurts all the time. She called me a day or two later and said that my nephew said my bil ran them off when they got there. This is what she said he (my nephew) said, anyway. She didn't see or hear what was said, though, so there's no telling what happened. I just thought youall would like an update on my Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the update. Glad u stayed out of the line of his ugliness. I hate to be around people like that. He must be a miserable soul to treat his family like that.

Your Thanksgiving makes me very grateful for my Thanksgiving, which I spent quietly at home. I still remember the last "family" Thanksgiving I ever went to about 50 years ago. My dad got drunk and dropped my aunt's delicious candied yams down the stairwell before anyone got a bite of them, and my uncle upchucked all over the table, before anybody got a bite of anything. And it was not because of anybody taking too long saying grace. He did not wait for that either. Shudder. So ever since I have treasured a quiet holiday at home.

I guess I should be thankful that my holidays aren't any worse. It's still hard when somebody is unpleasant no matter what the situation. At least we do always say grace before we eat. I'm so sorry that your family is the way they are. I don't blame you for not wanting to get together with them. Thank you for your response and I hope you have a great day. Kathy.

I have a feeling my sister must have talked to him before I got there. I don't know, though. I'm just guessing this because she says he never listens to her. The reason why I think this is because he was pretty quiet while we were eating and my sister commented about this. He said he didn't have anything to say. Thank you for your response and you have a good day. Kathy.
