Why New Moon is not anti-feminist or dumb

New Moon has earned so much hype and inspired so many discussions that the haters probably caused the movie to have more popularity and get more box office success than the fans did. What I don't understand is how people manage to turn everything into a battle between the sexes where many boys/men called women dumb for even remotely liking the piece.But Twilight is a simple vampire romance that does not promise anything fascinating or surprising. Do you like love stories with fantastic elements? Do you like stories where the boy and girl are ready to do anything for each other? If not, stay away. If you do like to get lost in a world where "monsters" exist, just enjoy. Why do you think Twilight is not as not shallow as people make it out to be?
Yeah, I am starting the discussion for the fans...

I find Twilight hanging, but I think New Moon might be better. I've yet to watch it and I think with Lautner's character being developed more, there should be more interesting plot definitely. So, how many stars do you give New Moon?

Well,that depends. If I consider it as a book's movie? 7/10. It is a very loyal adaptation. If I hadn't known the books and wasn't typically a vampire movies' fan?
5/10 probably...
If you don't mind some exaggerated romance, it is a fun movie with a good soundtrack.I like the "action" scenes in Italy. But the as a whole, the movie is slower than Twilight since there is a depression thing Bella goes through after Edward leaves. That's why Jacob's character is a leading one here.

Ahhhhh, I see. Thanks for telling me the gist of it, I really appreciate it. Sounds like I will get pretty bored, because I find Twilight already slow, so hmmmmp. Perhaps I shall wait it out on DVD then. I heard the book version is way better. So you are Team Jacob? LOL... just kidding. Bella's sweet, and she doesn't suit to be depressed..so if there are scenes whereby she's depressed, it's going to make me sleep. Oh shaks! LOL.. I'd better go watch Zombieland again then. It was really hilarious!..

I heard this movie was so boring and all the boys were topless of all the scene. Uhm, sounds just only ladies are going to scream, yach! Basicly, i dont like vampire/warewolf movies.

Well,it is true that women like the men in the film but they are not topless all the time, trust me.
1) The lead vampire appears only in a couple of scenes
2) The "werewolf" is a shapeshifter so clothes don't really travel with him all the time.
You don't like these movies because of the romance? Usually a lot of them involve some type of romance but many involve more action.
p.s: Although there is romance, try "Wolf" from 1994. First of all, the leading actor is a middle-aged Jack Nicholson so while I admire his acting, I am not fond of his looks. The actress is Michelle Pfeiffer, so guys have a beautiful woman to look at.
But most of all, it is a solid psychological thriller.

Terrible movie. But I'm tired too of people accusing it to be anti-feminist. Isn't the author female anyway?

Yeah, the author is female.
My problem with the movie is that so many people just love calling each other names. It is mindless entertainment. You either like it or you don't like. And the movie is meant for the fans anyway. And it has always been obvious that this movie is not a thriller...

I've literally had people telling me that they don't agree with beliefs of Jacob's tribe and the fact that Edward is a vampire. It's so weird! I think people nowadays take things WAY too seriously. I like it because it's fun and I don't take it too seriously. Even if there was hidden meaning, I wouldn't care, because that's not why I like it lol. People are so funny sometimes.
