I found a weird... crocolisk thing in Stormwind. I guess a swewr beast or something. It was level 50, and im currently 54, plus im a hunter, so it wasnt a problem. But the thing had the gray thing around its picture for when its "rare" or whatever, and it had 17,000+ hp.
All i got was a freakin tooth. and it didnt even let me skin it because i was out of target line, even though i wasnt.
WoW, you're disappointing me.

Well, you can try farming it. It might drop an epic at some point. I guess Blizzard sometimes does that. Putting in a rare creature and then not giving it good loot. But it might be because it's part of a quest or the storyline or something.

Yes, I too have seen the sewer beast at the end of the sewer in stormwind, I too killed it and all it gave me was rubbish. As a lvl 80 hunter, i took him down in a few second but it wasn't worth it. The crocolisk being a silver elite npc is meant to drop rare good stuff, so with this, I'm completely in favour to what you said, it is indeed dissapointing, especially since you don't see it often. If only they can edit the drop list to make it drop better things, if not, then whenever I see it I wouldn't bother killing it.

just cos its a silver portrait around it doesnt mean its elite, and most of the old rares dont drop anything good at all, the new ones in outland and northrend always drop a nice blue and some gold, besides as it was a rare croc and you were a hunter u shoulda tamed it :)
