Many people are using credit card.My friend Abe also uses it but I never thought to ask why he uses it.What i know is,he just uses it for very important reasons.Whatever his reason, I do respect it.Many times, I was offered to avail credit card but I really can't.Maybe because I don't want to have much monthly financial obligations. How about you?Do you use credit card?Is it advantageous to you?Your responses will be very much appreciated.

Yes I actually have 2 credit cards and to be honest it's really challenging to control your urges in buying the things you want. I'm actually in debt right now and I've been paying for my debts for 3 years now. Owning a credit card has its advantages and disadvantages. You should know how to control those "urges" as much as possible. Make sure to use it only for EMERGENCY purposes such as for ex: a loved one or member of a family needs to be rushed to the hospital, in need of medicicine, etc. Other than than, end of season sales or promos are not considered emergencies :) It's still best not to get a credit card since it will definitely affect you financially.

Not anymore! I used to have several credit cards but then I ended getting myself into serious debt. I decided to cut the plastic in two and this is the best decision I ever made! I now use plastic in the form of a debit card! I can only spend what I have in my bank account and no more, this is a great safety measure I think. I can think of one way in which a credit card would be very useful and that is if you were stuck in another part of the world with no money and all you had was the plastic in your wallet, this would then get you out of a very sticky mess, credit cards are good for that but of course you would have to deal with the financial consequences when you returned home. I don't think I will ever use a credit card again! Life is too short! Once I am out of debt I will stay away from debt forever! Andrew

Credit is really useful to those who have one especially in times of having no cash for buying your needs. But warning use it properly and wisely and pay your bills regularly. This happens to many people they are abusing their credit cards and swipe anything but they never pay was have been debited from the account that cause their accounts to file up and charge big interest which they will not able to pay the balance. It is really useful if you use it wisely.

Credit card is good to those who know how to use it.. Don't get credit card if don't have rules yet.. Always make rules and always follow that rules. For example set a limit.. Only use that limit..don't over use your credit card.. See to it that you pay the whole amount.. Chance of lifestyle..If you see that your lifestyle chance but our earning is the same..Then its a warning sign to stop using your credit card chance are sooner or later you can't pay your credit card in time and before you know it you have big debt to pay.. Use credit card for your advantage. Like me I have two credit cards only..and I'm not planning to add one. I also used my credit card to make loans..but I see to it that I earned more than the interest I paid.. So if I loan example.. 10k and pay 1% a month for 12 months..I see to it that I earned at list 3% a month.. Also rolling.. some say its unethical..so I don't recommend it. But if you want to earn that is legal and your not that conscious why not.. What I do. I will do grocery of my neighbors..Using my credit card..and they pay me cash..So I have cash and I have points in my credit card..And my neighbor pay me for the service..so..I earn..

Hi, I use credit card always. Yes it is right said that we should not be burrired under finicial obligations. Even though it is well said, we can use it judiciously. As we can keep track of expenses we make with credit card. We should pay cheqe before last date of credit limit expires. So we can take advantage of precious things wwhich are not afforadable because of our limited budget.

Neither my hubby nor me have any credit card and we don’t intend to acquire one yet. We too are flooded with offers and schemes but have made up our mind never to have a credit card…it only increases a person’s debt trap and does nothing good. If we suddenly run short of cash, the debit card is always there.

I am planning to apply for a credit card this month because I believe that it will be a big help for me. My friends also have a lot of credit card but it also helps them as long as you have discipline in your self and you can control your self from using it in senseless way.

Credit cards are horrible, you use them and eventually the money you have to pay up to the bank at the end of the month starts to pile up and then you are done for. Always use debit card you just deposit money and spend it with no chargees whatsoever.

I have 4 credit cards (1 Visa, 1 Visa/UnionPay combo, 2 MasterCard) and 2 debit cards (Visa and MasterCard again), I use a credit card for everything as it simplifies managing finances - a single bill to pay (or in my case 4, but more about that later). There are disadvantages, but only high interest, which you can avoid because you don't need to actually use the credit limit (one of my cards has a $30 limit - the one I use most, another has $4k limit - for emergency use only). Advantages are not needing to carry cash, easy online purchases (which I do all the time), linking with PayPal, frequent flyer miles and other rewards programs. There aren't many disadvantages, unless you have high debt on the cards and suddenly lose your job or something. Credit cards are especially useful if you travel a lot, that's why I have different types of cards, in case one isn't accepted somewhere. Also, I have the cards denominated in 3 different currencies, also very useful.

Hi Bren. As much as possible, try not to get a credit card. If you have money enough, then pay in cash. One quick note though, there are also benefits in getting a credit card. One is accessibility, with a credit card, you can pay online or avail of cash if you need one. Some times, credit standing is also important. If you're short in cash, I would recommend you get a credit card, BUT, please make sure to always pay in time so that you get to avoid credit fees and interest. What I do is this: The due is every 15th. I shop for groceries on the 16th of January and I pay on the 14th of February. In our country, credit cards do not have interest provided you pay the full amount due on or before the due date. This way it will not be considered as a loan plus I can cycle my money and am given 27-30 days to pay what ever I purchased.

Hi Bren, I suggest you try to avoid getting a credit card. Once you get one, your trapped and its very difficult to avoid getting in a cycle of debt, buying with credit, paying interest etc. I have told my self that I will never get a credit card. I don't know how long I can last but, so far I have got a Visa Debit card, basically its a card, so I don't need to carry any money, and it only uses the money in my account, so if my account has 600 bucks, then i can only spend upto 600 bucks. I can even place a limit on it. This is the way you will get financially ahead. There are plenty of people who earn high salaries but live beyond there means and save very little. Its not how much you earn or pay on dinners or expensive clothes, its how much you save that will get you ahead, and the first way to SAVE that is a + on your statement is to eliminate an - transactions, such as credit card interest. Get a visa debit or a mastercard debit

Hi I use credit cards. It has a lot of advantage and disadvantage. First thing, you must have self-control before availing credit cards. The advantage is you earn points and avail discounts on some items if you are a good payer, while the disadvantage is you might get stuck my high interest when you only pay the minimum amount.

Hi Bren, I am a credit card user and currently want to be debt free. This is a very big obligation mainly if you have no self control like I am. At first, I obtained a credit card for emergency purposes only, but then, can't help not to shop for my baby's needs even if its not yet payday. Now all I wanted is to be debt free...

You can use a credit card, but you must be able to pay off the whole amount in full each month. It will also improve your credit rating if you do this. However, I find that often it is not that easy to pay it off, because either you may have to go to the mail box and drop in the envelope with a check or if it is not a bank credit card it is not linked with your bank. Another thing is that you may not be able to get out if for instance you have a sick one at home or are not that well yourself, or the weather is against you. For instance we have a bank Mastercard that is linked with our bank account so if we charge anything, I can transfer the money from our checking to the card. With store Visas or store Mastercards, you will have to go to the Bill payment section and there will be a list or popular store accounts including the usual utilities, etc. That way when you get the statement or before if you are a little worried, you can transfer the money immediately and there will be no hassle. Another thing is if you get one that offers points, then save the money in your bank account and then charge the item. You will then be able to pay it off right away.

hi bren, Credit card can be used if you have some control over spending and i know people think its having lot of headaches of paying interests but they dont think that you cannt draw money and carry cash everywhere. And sometimes in odd time you may not have access to cash then credit card is best option. If you are not have instant cash you can use the credit card and pay after sometime which is the main advantage but it doesnt mean that you end up in debts as credit cards do have limits for spending which may depend on your finacial status. Now-a-days rewards points can also be earned which can let you get gifts. I am not saying for gifts take a credit card but i know its something important.

Good day to you. Using a credit card is somehow a very economical way. There is no need to bring a lot of money for shopping, hence, it will just take one credit card to shop. And, aside from that, this is one way to prevent the risk of bringing a large amount of money with you. However, everybody must know the advantages and disadvantages of using a credit card. One must know the capacity of paying the total amount due in order to avoid the financial charges that might add-up to the whole amount. Aside from that, making a cash advance in your credit card is not advisable because, a double interest might be computed, at first, when you are withdrawing the amount and the second, if you were not able to settle the full amount due. Thus, when using a credit card, there are advantages and disadvantages to consider. When you are using it, you must take care of it.

I find credit card very useful because I will only use it on emergency purposes only. But my friends are having problems because they are impulsive buyers especially if they are depress so they are having a hard time paying the monthly of their cards. It only depends how you control yourself.

Alright I hate credit cards period sure they make you look good to some people but it really does my damage than good it wrecks your credit in the long run think about it what happens if you lost your job. It usually takes more than 5 years to pay off a credit card believe me I know I just paid the whole credit card off and I swear I will never touch it again

It depends on how much cash-flow you end up using each month. For a person who earns around U$S 3000.00, U$S 30 of interest per month, is not a big deal. Let's say you NEED a TV. A very expensive TV, let's say U$S 6000.00. With your regular U$S 3000.00, you'll need at least 2 months to acquire it (considering you have nothing else to pay for). However using a credit card, you can acquire it right tomorrow and pay in 3 separate payments of 2000.00 without getting any interest. Problem with credit cards appears when you handle 6 - 12 payments and you have overcharge. The secret is to always keep an eye, wether you are within your budget's limit or not. Regards,
