As of today there are 191,640 members registered in myLot. But how many of them are active. Today when I clicked on a couple of discussions, I found out that they have been started more than two years back, and the members have not bothered to log in after that. There might be so many such members, How many active members do you think are there in myLot today?

Im not sure how many active users there is on MyLot, im active myself (obvious) I believe sometimes people think it is an easy way to make money, but it is not that hard earning here on MyLot if you follow the participation guidelines.
Also people seem to be more patient now with the economical crisis, and many are unemployed, so they use all extra options they have to earn a little extra, and here MyLot comes in play. MyLot is free to use, you learn something and you even earn on it.

Your most welcome, and it is very true, every penny helps especially those who are unemployed. And depending on where in the world you are located you would need the extra penny more or less...

I have no idea how many are active but it is certainly a lot less than the number in 'population' as that includes those whose accounts are no longer active, whether they deleted themselves or whether they were deprived of it by myLot.
There may seem sometimes not tobe a lot of activity but if you look in the right places you will find it

Well, Diana, I think you got the answer. But it seems you are not accepting the fact, that people have stopped coming to our beloved myLot.Okay, I agree that Christmas is a very big festival, so people will be quite busy, but what about November. It was in November, I started the discussion, that there has been a dearth of new and interesting discussions in myLot.

Of course things are a little bit better this week, and I have seen some good and interesting topics. Well I think Lamb will have an answer for us tomorrow.

Hi ramesh,
Numbers of active members are very less in mylot, it is a fact. Many are joining then leaving the place. In the beginning there are some hesitations like how to start new discussions.. etc and members who are getting supports can easily get success. In my latest discussion I got one response and it was the first post of the member so I checked the profile and find out that the person joined in mylot before two years and posting the first post now only. Actually I am trying my best to help new people because I know the struggles as a beginner, there was nobody to support me so I didn't worked almost one year after finishing 20 posts or something. In my second term fortunately I got many good friends and they really helped me to learn many things.

Sreekala you are like me, I have also joined mylot about 3 years back, and I was not very regular, In fact I can say this is my third innings, during the last two times,I lost interest, and did not come back to my lot for a long time, and I think I must have lost some of the acumulated earnings at that time. This time, I am in mylot for ever. I also usually respond to all the new comers, and always make it a point to welcome them.

Would I be considered an active or inactive member? Although I frequently comment on other peoples discussions, I have yet to start one of my own.

'Active' defines those who post regularly. It doesn't matter where as long as their presence is felt

...Hi rameshkumaar57, I did the same thing the other day, looked at the total number of signed on members and wondered how many were actually active.
If you look at the discussions, you will notice, I think, that the same my lotters
usually start the discussions or most of them. Then if you look at the average number of responses per discussion, which may be about 20 per, times the number of discussions, puts it around 1,600. But the same thing applies to the responders, the same people participate. So my guess would be that there are about 1,200 active members. Probably way off in one direction or the other. We should have some 20,000 discussions on any given day with over 150,000 members.
How many do you think are active? Take care;

I was thinking that about 25,000 members log in daily in myLot, Of course one of our regular contributors, Lamb, has mentioned, that it may be less than 10,000, and I think he is very nearly correct. Regarding the total members who are active I would put it about 55k to 75k.They may log in once in three days, or maybe in the weekend.

maybe half of the 191,641 right now... people keep joining, but my guesses are that people don't have patience or don't write as much, they get tired and look for other ways to make money. I think most people here are in for the cash. there is a big amount of active users right now though... questions keep popping up everywhere!

My feeling is about 55,000 to 75,000. myLot is not for making money. It is more of an information site. You can learn a lot of things in myLot, at the same time, make some money also on the side.

to see how much active members we need to check one by one through their profile, I thought it was a tough task.

Hi ramesh, we had this one up not too long ago you know and I remember that Mike and I came to the same conclusion of around about either 5000. You only need to look at peoples friends lists and see the numbers of friends they chose goodness only knows how long ago who still sit there with under 10 posts to their name. The active ones also include all the banned members who manage to sneak back on and the multiple personalities who have more than one account.

Yes, I have not thought of people with multiple personalities with more than two to three account. Well Lamb has made some calculations, and by his calculations, we will know by this time tomorrow how many members are roughly coming and log in myLot.

Here on mylot are not many people online and active members because many people just made an account and upload some photo and not more than that . So i think on mylot are maybe 50 000-70 000 people active but not every day :) . Every day i think are 30 000 people online.

hello ramesh, frankly i have NO idea how many are actually active, how ever i do know is that those who have reputations and quite a large number of post are either inactive or gone. most of those are newbies, some newbies tend to stay and some registed and then go leave the account for good. sometimes i wish those people where under me and of course, active

I bet more than half this number are no longer active here on MyLot, or are simply on hiatus. I remember just last month, I hadn't logged onto MyLot since God knows when. However, after I re-visited it, I found myself becoming increasingly more involved in the discussions and now I'm more active than I've ever been.
Many members aren't gone permanently, they are probably just taking a break or held up with other business and important matters. There is always a possibility of them returning, perhaps with much more opinions and views to add and more interesting discussions to start.
Others leave MyLot simply because they can no longer be bothered with the discussions, or if they feel that MyLot simply isn't for them. Furthermore, think just how many people registered to this site in the hope that posting a few discussions here and there would earn them a small fortune in a matter of weeks, before realising that you actually need to contribute sufficient material to the community, and abandoned MyLot because they didn't have the patience, time or interest to do such a thing, and were only here for the money in the first place?
