I woke up with swollen eyes this morning and the reason is I was watching Hachiko Monogatari last night. This is a 1987 movie about a dog called Hachiko and its loyalty to its master, even after his death. While watching the movie, I cried so much that I think I used up half a box of tissue. The story, the dog, the music and everything else made this film one of the best I've ever watched.
The name Hachiko is well-known among Japanese and dog lovers, but for the benefit for those who don't know, you can check out this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hachik%C5%8D
12 years after 1987 (2009), America decides to make a movie about Hachiko and it's called Hachiko: A Dog's Story starring Richard Gere. This movie has already been shown in Japan and I think it will be shown in America soon. It will only come to Singapore next January and I'm quite looking forward to watching the show.
If you are a dog lover, please be sure to catch Hachiko Monogatari. If you have already watched, please share your views.
Thanks.

Wow!! I thought u are so active upon your return to mylot, but only to end up seeing same posts!! haha =D
I think i know the movie, or maybe not?? As there's something similiar, which is also from japan, but it's been shown on SCV already.. haha =D It's about the same as what u have talked about here, but i'm not sure if america's version is the same.. haha =D
Even if there's an america version, i think i will skip it, for they are not good in remaking movies!! haha =D NOthing beats the original!!

I get to watch the movie and now I want to go to japan to see his monument. I heard Hachiko's skin is stuffed and preserved in a museum and his flesh is cremated and buried next to his beloved master. A box of kleenex is not enough on watching this movie or reading his story, I used a roll of toilet paper while watching the movie because I ran out of kleenex, the movie really makes me cry.
