Whatever happened to JUST peanuts?

Aww! I'm so sorry to hear that you're suffering with a migraine. I know what they're like and wouldn't wish them on my worst enemy. Well, an ex-husband, maybe, but that's all. I've noticed the same thing about just about everything! I remember, back in the day, when you had a choice of 2 or 3 varieties or brands of something. Now, there's a couple of dozen! Deodorant shopping is frightening! Soap? Simple ol' bar soap to wash your face with? Good grief! I wish I had known of your plight sooner and had time to do something about it. I have two packs of raw peanuts. I wasn't looking for raw peanuts when I bought them but thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to get some. I can roast them however I want, with as little or as much salt as I want. (I like the lightly-salted ones, too.) It's crazy out there! You can't find something simple anymore. Well, okay, it's hard to find something simple. My husband asked me to pick him up some Head and Shoulders shampoo once. He likes the original Head and Shoulders. There are about a dozen varieties of Head and Shoulders now! I looked and looked but couldn't find anything that said "original" or even said nothing but "Head and Shoulders" without something added. I sent him out to get his shampoo after that. I may be dating myself but I like phones that are just phones. The newer cell phones are now phones but also cameras, video recorders, GPS navigation systems, internet, alarm clocks, day-minders, voicemail, phonebooks, blah blah blah. I want a phone that is just a phone!!! I don't want one I can watch DVDs on! I sure hope your migraine/headache gets better soon. I get them myself and they usually last a few days before disappearing. I have meds for them but that just makes me sleepy so I try to avoid them whenever possible. Do you have anything you can take for them?

Hello AP. I am sorry to know that you have got migraine for four days. It is really terrible to have a migraine. Sometimes it comes to me as well when I have a cold or when I don't have a good rest. The only way I can get rid of it is to take one or two capsules for cold. I hate it when migraine visits me. Yeah, I like peanuts as well. I bought a big bag of peanuts and eat them every day. Peanuts are good to our health. I wish you to get the kind of peanuts you expect to next time. Good luck to you.

Yeah, you are absolutely correct. And I've noticed this with the peanuts as well. Things today are too complicated and when you want something simplified, it's just not there. I guess coffee would be in the same category. It's available, but sometimes when you go to certain places it either has an extra flavor with it or you are questioned about adding something to it. I guess things just can't be anymore.

Hey Ambie! That's kind of strange! I thought all mixed nuts included peanuts! I always see peanuts everywhere! Every kind you could possibly want! Maybe you could tell me what kind you want and I could send them to you for Christmas! I don't especially like peanuts! I love cashews, walnuts and sometimes almonds, but not peanuts! And the strange thing is I love peanut butter, and I only eat the chunky kind! Please let me know what you are looking for! Santa will be more than happy to help!lol I owe ya one anyway!

Hi Ambie! How are you feeling? Did you get to see your doctor? What kind of peanuts were you looking for? Lightly salted and roasted ate pretty much the same thing, the only difference is the amount of salt. Dry roasted are nasty, but you didn't mention those. If you are looking for the ones in the shells, they've had them at Homeland in the produce section. Most cans of mixed nuts have very few or no peanuts. People used to complain that there were too many. Now mixed nuts are mostly almonds. Don't forget Mason's Peanuts off of Rt 9 near Riverwind Casino.

hope you will be better sooner. i know that it is terrible when you had a migraine for long time (four days), i have this experience when i had a cold,because it is really hard to bear, so i always to see the doctor immediately and the cold always can be control after two or three hours later.such around four days for the migraine,i couldn't image how you body could be bear. on the other hands,it is very strange for me to heard that migraine can be cured by peanuts? what kinds of peanuts were there? we like to eat peanuts,so my mum always plante some peanuts at the field which is in the front of our house,good luck and have a nice day!

Goodness I would not have thought that There is no problems here with the salted Peanuts they are still as popular as always and there are always plenty on the Shelves to I hope you have found some in the meantime

hope you feel better soonest. i have to wonder if it is because of peanut allergies and i guess because of christmas, not too many people want just plain peanuts. i guess you could try a bulk food place that has baking items and candy in bulk.

gee, I guess I wouldn't notice that because I don't eat plain peanuts anymore - they don't agree with me - cashews - those I like

New and improved isn't that what they call it? I think so...but not all products are new and improved or embellished with special things like chocolate! I know there are a few things that disappear...I used to get this certain brand of nylons that wore like iron! You could wear them..wash them..wear them and no runs....the store discontinued carrying them and I can't find them anywhere! Now the ones you buy you can wear once or twice and have a run....they are very tricky!

hi AmbiePam my son found a large jar of slightly salted peanuts in of all places RiteAid and they were so good, I had a hunger for them. odd but sometimes Walmart is like that, you can find almost what you want but not quite. there is a push now on mixed nuts not to have peanuts in them, dont know why but I see that in the big chain stores now days,used to be that mixed nuts always had a lot of peanuts in them. I was looking for peanuts in the shell in the ninety nine cent store and could not find any before I got a large sack for one dollar. so who knows why the stores do what they do. I did get some ripe fresh tomatoes

GOSH, I didn't know peanuts were so hard to find. I haven't looked for any , did have payday bars in my halloween candy & of course they have peanuts. first time i had seen that candy bar in a long time. I don't buy alot of things like that because i sure don't need them so i just haven't paid attention i guess.

It has happened to me before, I was looking for loot bags for my daughter’s birthday party, you know the plastic bags you put candy and treats for the children when they leave the party. I don’t know if I chose the wrong day to go shopping but I could not find what I was looking for anywhere! A simple item, just like salted peanuts and it was nowhere to be found; it is frustrating and disappointing at the same time! Hope you are feeling better...

Hi AmbiePam Oh yes I have ran into this problem myself. I first would like to say that I know what you are going thru. I have had a migraine for the last couple of days. I couldn't even get on here and do anything because of it. One of the things that I try to find and it seems almost impossible to find is Peanutbutter cream cookies. Me and hubby both love them and cant' find them any where. I hope that you get to feeling better and have a better tomorrow. Keep smiling.

I get the mixed nuts that says less than 50% peanuts and I find thats about all they have in there along with a few cashews and almonds brazil nuts a n very few pecans

I am not sure what happened to them. I think you can buy just peanuts though. I have bought the Planters nuts that come in a container but when we opened them to eat them, it had all kinds of nuts and no peanuts in it.

I have also noticed that it seems they don't have anything less salt when it comes to peanuts. I think there's been a lot of changes to food, like with the boxes, etc. We used to have mac n cheese in a redbox now it's in a white box.

oh my goodness everyone else must of been wanting plain peanuts cause thats usually all i find at walgreens when im looking for the mixed nuts cause i mostly like just cashews. but cant find just cashews alone. one time my son came into my room and asked could he eat some of my peanuts. lol! I said why sure, but they are mixed nuts. he said not any more you ate all but the peanuts...hes so funny !!!
