hi glensgirl I am told it means in Italian strings or twines so that is appropriate indeed. I know I do love the stuff and there is no Italian blood in my forbears at all, mostly Scottish and Irish so guess I just like it cause I like it so much. And I do do a mean spaghetti with meatballs and tomato sauce as I use barrilo's spaghetti plus and their wonderful spaghetti sauce with basil and a lot of garlic that I chop up and put in,also I buy Mamas italian meat balls that are soooo ggoood. wow, talk'about good to eat food, that is it.[/em]

Hi, glensgirl. I don't know where spaghetti got its name from. I would have to do some research on this subject. It can of reminds me of ziti. When spaghetti is pronounced, it has a sounding like ziti.
