It is winter in my home country at the moment. It has been raining nearly every day this week. My patio is slippery and so I am thinking of getting rid of my wooden decking. When I take my two youngest kids out I always make sure I have their buggy's raincover.
How do you enjoy rainy days?
What sort of places do you do to?
How do you feel when the weather is really rainy?

As sad and depressing as this sounds I actually love rainy days! This is then a moment that I can stop, relax, think, listen to the tap, tap, tapping on the window panes and generally watch the world go by! I guess this is probably the best time when I can relax in my chair with a good book and escape into another world! I think it's just a nice scene! It would be horrible to be caught outside in the rain obviously but whilst I'm inside then I am "as happy as Larry" as the saying goes! I can picture the scene with you having wooden decking, that sounds very nice! It's a shame that you have been receiving rain on a daily basis! I don't mind rain but I wouldn't want to experience it on a daily basis. The good thing about living in England is we have a balance of rain as well as the occasional sunshine! Andrew

Hi Maximax,
Rainy days in my place bring a lot of respite from terrible heat and over 40 Degree Celsius+ temperatures that we face in summers. The smell of wet clay and soil when the first rains come is a great joy. The cool air brings freshness to us. However, I do not like when it rains continuosuly for hours and hours. It creates waterlogging, traffic jams and a lot of headache. Also, getting confined to home for too long times sometimes irritates also.
Overall, however, it feels quite good when it rains.

I welcome the rain after a long bout of the warm weather. It is the dry season for us. It happens in the months of March, April and May. Then comes June with the rains. It is never a good thing for me when it rains. It would mean sacrificing a lot of things that you are able to do during a dry day. It would mean having to bring an umbrella and wear raincoats. It is not good to walk in the rain as it dirties our clothes and legs.
But rain is a welcome treat. It helps cool down the temperature. It makes the plants and the frogs happy. I can expect lots of blooming flowers in the days to come. With heavy rains, it is a good time to clean the cemented yard and clean the small canals. But I don't want it to rain for days. I just feel sad when it rains. I don't know why.

I love the rain. The humidity feels good too. I think i just like water in general. I feel so content when it rains, I actually stand outside doing nothing.

It's already raining today by the time this message is posted. Whenever no one's around on a rainy day I can think more clearly, especially when no one's giving me a hard time at home. I tend to be myself and pamper myself when it rains. I look out the window and see how much it's raining, and I wouldn't go out on such times unless I had an umbrella or if it was something serious. I'm more of a stay-at-home guy when it comes to the rain AND when everyone else isn't around, although I still need to turn the heat on if and when it gets cold.

I love it when it is raining. I love the idea of just staying at home with my girls and drinking a hot mug of coffee or chocolate. But when it's the moonsoon rains, sometimes i don't like it anymore and after all our bad experiences with flash floods it gets a little scary when it rains non-stop.

Hi maximax8! I like rainy days. I think they are relaxing. I like to sleep when it's raining. I just exercise in the house, watch television, practice music, get on the computer, or do whatever needs to be done in the house. Sometimes I will go to the mall to walk. I get tired of so much rain, though. I get to missing going horseback riding and volunteering at the therapeutic riding center when it rains so much. Kathy.

I kind of like rainy days. Especially if I am home. I like to get up late because sleeping with the sound of rain is peaceful. Then I get stuff done in my house. Maybe make a big meal for the family and we all sit down and watch movies together. It is pretty cool.

We don't have winter in the Philippines, Its just hot and rainy season. It gets cold in December but not cold enough for water to freeze, it's just a sweet 24 degrees centigrade. It's supposed to be rainy season but i have not experience a lot of rain yet. I like rain, in fact when i was in high school i wish for rain to come so we can have water. It's really funny because we are near a lake and yet we don't have steady supply of water and more often i have to go to a spring to get water for our daily needs because the faucet just went dry. So i often pray for rain do i don't have to get water a few hundred meters away. We even use rain water to drink. All was well when i moved to the city, since water in no longer a problem. I only pray for rain to wash away the pollution in the air. But that changes when we were hit by a typhoon last September. it's not that strong but the water it carried and poured was enough to put 80% of the entire city underwater. All our things we're washed away by the flood, I'm sure a lot have heard of this tragic event. Even my kids were traumatized and would often run to me and asked that we go to our neighbors second floor house just in case a flood is coming.

Hi Maxine,
I usually stay inside on rainy days. I don´t like the cold that comes with them so I stay at home. If have have friends or family around, I make special treats that I only do when it rains. A hot chocolate with clover and cinnamon is wonderful. And there are also all kinds of fritters (sweet) to eat with it.
If I´m alone I just put on the heater and stay at my computer or I go to my room and watch TV in bed.
Hug!

I like rainy days but extreme rains keep me off. In rainy days I like to have hot sip of coffee and some snacks.Sometimes i like to watch TV snuggled in the blanket. I love rain drops trickling. But rains in winters is not tolerable and makes it very cold.
