A few days ago I was walking around the grocery store with my two toddlers and I felt this ridiculous headache coming on--ah, the joys of motherhood. As I was moving through the store, dropping things into my cart for purchase, I noticed the song "Walking In A Winter Wonderland" droning over the PA system, and rolled my eyes. By the time I had went from the bakery to the frozen section, up and down each aisle, I noticed something very, VERY disturbing.
They played the SAME SONG TWICE.
By DIFFERENT ARTISTS.
Come on, marketing companies--ARE YOU SERIOUS?!
THIS is why people grow to hate this season, even though it should be joyous. It's sad.

Twice in a row? Haha.
Hearing the same songs over and over again, year after year is one of the reasons why I used to hate shopping at Christmas too.
It's not just the repetition I hate. I live in the tropics, but supermarkets and shopping centres play "Christmas songs" about snow and winter and snowmen. I've never seen snow, nor do I want to see snow in the middle of the tropics. That would be a nightmare!

Indeed! I can only imagine. I used to live in NC, where we only got snow once in a few years and people would FREAK out if they ended up driving in it. And on Christmas, rather than snow...we'd have rain. Cold, dreary, grody rain.
I used to say, "Winter wonderland, my foot." LOL
