We have the Christmas decorations in the city centre which are usually quite beautiful at night except that they were put up around October which I thought was way too early! There were decorations and Christmas sales so early this year; it just seemed ridiculous! Our local shopping centre has a beautiful Nativity set that was only put out on display a few days ago. There is also a huge Christmas tree in the middle of the mall and Santa is dutifully sitting under the big tree waiting for kids to sit on his knee and put their orders in to the North Pole.

There were Christmas decorations in our stores even before Thanksgiving! Our day of thanks doesn't get much notice anymore because people are frantically pushing Christmas on us so we'll spend money.
I really enjoy seeing the decorations but I wish they wouldn't put them up so early. Already there are houses on my street that are beautifully decorated and I really like it but it's too soon!

Hi haiershen, Yes, I see signs of Christmas all around me. Christmas music is being played in all the stores and everyone appears to be quite busy. We have a community Christmas tree not far from where I live, which I believe will be lit up tonight. I realize that there is not as much money around this year as others and I'm sure that the food banks will be hoping for bigger donations from those who can afford it. Also there are trees set up where people can place gifts for children who's parents aren't working or just aren't making enough to buy gifts. While we see lots of people with worried looks as they ponder on what they can give for Christmas, we also see that many are happier at this time of year. Perhaps there is something magical about Christmas after all. Blessings

Around malls, and some other houses yeah I have seen the decorations. The city plaza downtown already had its huge Christmas Tree up. Its a tradition during Christmas that a giant tree be put up and someone famous like a local celebrity would have the honors of lighting it up the day before Christmas Day, or I think at least the start of the Night Mass. There are also some neighborhoods that I pass by that have all the lights on and some great decorations to celebrate Christmas. Here in the house though, we dont have that kind of ambiance. Its just a normal thing for us. We dont celebrate Christmas here anyways. We celebrate it at my Grandmother's house. All my cousins would be there, so its also sort of like a family reunion.

Hobby Lobby had lighted Christmas trees for sale in their store long before Halloween. This was merchandise for sale not just for decoration. Many, if not most, other stores started decorating for Christmas immediately after Halloween. The only stores that paid any attention at all to Thanksgiving were the grocery stores. As to Christmas sales, in the US, the day after Thanksgiving is called black Friday and is usually the biggest shopping day of the year. Most stores opened early with limited special sales. There were long lines of people waiting for the stores to open, even in the wee hours of the morning, in hopes of snagging something at an extra special sale price.

I know a lot of the stores here in Idaho have started decorating since Halloween. I have our tree up, but it is not decorated yet. I have put our Christmas houses up, but now I am not sure why. Money has been so tight and my husband's boss is telling my husband to only work 3 hours a day because the economy is bad, but yet he can hire two new people and they are both full-time.
I know our city had a tree lighting ceremony and they collected toys for the underprividege children.

We saw Christmas Trees are ready for the buying at a store about a month back, and of course real trees are already out everywhere and ready to be taken home. Christmas certainly is around us. All we need do is put up and decorate our tree and we'll be done with our Christmas Decorating!
