Hi friends
Generally every one will be called by their pet/nick name during their childhood like my neighbour's 5 year old son, whose original name is vipin, is fondly called by his parents and relatives as paapu and his father is called by his relatives as raghu, though his real name is srinath. Almost all my neighbours children and even adult were fondly called by their pet name only till today. Do you or your family members have any nick name/pet name? If so please share with us

ok ok ok chinnigaru. But I like the name Neeraja. Because In my school days I have a dear friend called neeraja. In those days itself, her parents named all the five daughters in a sequence which I liked most. They are padmaja, pankaja, vanaja, neeraja and shailaja. All the names ending with Ja. It sounds sweet. I am sorry for calling you bujji. I did not mean to call you like that and hurt your sentiment. Just fondly I was kidding you. bye my friend

my SIL1 her nick name was Linduck.... because when my hubby was a kid he couldn't say Linda, it came out as Lind-duck so we call her that or Duck to be silly. Sadly they aren't kids anymore and still do that. Oh and the kids call her Auntie Duck

Hi 3snugglebunnies
Your SIL1's nick name is very lovely and I liked it. Linda is also equally sweet. It is really a happy moment calling Auntie Duck fondly by your kids which shows that yours is a happy family and it is very hard to find in these days, such a happy joint family. Thanks for sharing your valuable moment with me. Bye. In this happy moment, may I fondly call your SIL with a friendly name by FRIENDLY DUCK?(just joking)

Nick/pet names are almost always used in my family! My name is jennifer-lee but i'm always called jen. My sisters name is kayla but we always call her hog, hoggy, or baby cakes. Sometimes we don't even call my mom "mom" we call her honey or baby.
Even our pets have nick/pet names! Lucy is lou lou, Vito is Mr. fluffy tail, Ginger is gingy pingy, and lucky is luck-a-lou!

Three of us do, three of us don't. Three names like Marianne, Leah, Walker, really can't shorten their names into anything interesting, however our relatives named Matthew, David, and Rebecca, are often called Matt, Dave, and Becky.

Hi danishcanadian
You are right. The former three names are though sweet sounding, they can not be shortened into anything interesting. The later three names are nice and at the same time can be shortened according to something interesting. Thanks for responding dear friend.

Hi vathsala!
I have a one name only and there is no pet or nick name, which is used for addressing me.. My name is not very long and it is easier to address me with my first name.
Have a nice day!

We are five sisters in total. First four sisters are not having any nick names. We are called by half names. But my last sister, who is apple of our eyes, was not at all named till she was three years. My mother was sick. Whenever my sister's naming ceremony was fixed, my mother was getting fits and the function was cancelled. My father was upset and did not name her. When our neighbour was petting her telling 'Kunguttukkullari Duyyan'[/b][/i], (no, meaning, just blabbering something to pet the child), my sister used to laugh so much with joy. So he named her Kungu, the first two syllables. Everyone started calling her with that name. One day hot water fell on her leg and we took her to doctor. When he asked her name, we were blinking and this one in her crying itself, said a name and doctor wrote on prescription. That itself became her name. But calling was with the name KUNGU only, even now. I think she is the only person, who named her own self. This is a sweet memory for all of us about our darling sister.

Hi
This is something curious. But true. Sometimes it happens, due to unavoidable reasons, naming ceremonies will be postponed and in these sort of situations, parents do not know what to do and which name should be told to the doctors and the child, in that fraction of the moment, must have told her favourite personality's name as her name to the doctor

Hi dear,
I think the new trend is calling people on pet/nick names. In my home every kids in the next generation has a pet name. Actually the real names are lengthy so pet names are keeping for calling easily. My name is calling completely in office only otherwise some prefer to call the first part and some prefer to call the second part. I had many nick names when I was a kid. Now on visit some people still calling those names but nobody knows those names here in Delhi.

Hi sree
The new trend is good so long as the people like it. In my house too we call our two sons by their pet names only. The real names will be called by the teachers only I think. coz all the friends too call each other some funny names only. At the office too his collegues call him by their own pet names. I like your name. sree stands for goddess of wealth, kala stands for art.
