Hmm, I think it's not a bad idea. But you have to make sure that the quality of your current night shift work will not suffer. You might earn a penny but lose your current job.

It all depends what you call 'good money'.
MyLot is a discussion site and rewards good quality discussions and responses. Many people have come here thinking that they will make a lot of money but haven't been prepared to put in the time or quality necessary. Most people who have been here for any length of time regard MyLot as a source of information and entertainment and a social site. The earnings are simply a bonus. Having said that, there are many here who make the $10 minimum payment every month.
I suggest that you start by reading the Guidelines and the FAQs (there are links to both at the bottom of every page) so that you understand how the site works. The Guidelines are important because any discussion that is considered not to be in accordance with them is liable to be deleted. This means that, if you started or responded to such a discussion, you will not be paid for that activity.
There is no set amount 'per post' here. The earnings are calculated using a very complex algorithm which we are not allowed to discuss but, in broad terms, the more you participate and concentrate on giving good quality responses and comments, the better you will fare.
Adding friends who share your particular interests to your friends list will also help because you can then be notified of their discussions and they of yours. MyLot has often been a place where friendships have been born and have developed.

I think you've got a good plan. Just be sure that you always make work a higher priority than myLot, even when you're answering a really interesting discussion...no matter how good your myLot earnings turn out to be, you can't expect them to compete with your wages!
