Is education really necessay in this world?

Well I cant say anything about the Chinese education system but I can say something about the system in both NY (where I currently live) and Ontario Canada (where I am from) and both systems are lacking...especially here in NY..BUT that doesnt mean I DON'T think education is necessary...of course it is! HOW one is educated in life though effectively can vary..I homeschooled my kids for 2 yrs and they thrived...I actually did whats known as UnSchooling and for us that worked out excellently....I am all for ppl being educated both IN school and outside of school (which is quite frankly unavoidable really I mean we learn things each and every day)...We need to have knowledge for so many reasons..we need to have and all do have skills in various areas - its just htat not everyone knows how to find and/or apply those skills and that knowledge and thats whre the problem lies IMO..

I think basic education is required but later on it is most important that which field you are going to choose for your future. That necessarily be not related with education. One should according to their interest .that will help him in getting good job and better earning. I have seen many peoples who have not done well in schools but earning great in their careers.

I would definitely say that it is important in order to have the best types of jobs and the one that we want and provide a good type of life for ourselves. But it also seems that a lot of jobs nowadays seems to want education and a certain level of education.

Education is just one way to get our point.But it's not the only way.Like what you say,now chinese education system really need a change,their gift can not be use in a right way.

education is so important,this is the we will learn a basic techniques in how to live in this world,but in finding a work with high salary the experience is above the education,because most the company want the person with very high experience about the job they will give to you,you said that most of your classmate before is riches now than you because there hardworking and high knowledge so they become rich now,people who have not been go to school but have a hardworking and have a high knowledge with the business is will been rich to the people with having a diploma of degree but they dont know how and where they will use that,am i right?

I think eduacation is very necessary. In today's economy, someone without education would never make it unless they are really good in the music business. That's where all the money is today....with the entertainers. Most of them were high school drop outs and they made it to be millionaires. It's so hard for the average person to make it these days. Just think if the majority of the world didn't have education, we would fall. We have to encourage our children to strive for that education that some don't think they will need but everyone needs a plan B just in case.

Hi cryst! You see education is the stepping stone in making a good career. It is not so that those of your friends who did not study were better than you because they might have got better jobs than you. Your education will never go waste and you will get good job once you get good experience. You will also be use your education in your future life say in your married life and if you are well educated you can teach your children yourself.

Education is definitely necessary in this world. When surrounded by ignorance and lies that cover truth educating ourselves is virtually our only weapon from allowing corruption to seep in. We must stay thirsty for knowledge otherwise we have to get used to what we are already dealing with. Change cannot come without someone or something striving for it.

Hm, I think you need to see why the government made such rules and educational systems. I am from Indonesia, and I don't think our educational system is good either. But after more research, I do realize that the educational system is not that bad. Have you ever notice that the winner and ranked students on science olympic (Biology, Math, Physics, etc) often come from Asia and not Western country? This means that our educational system is not as bad as we think. But, I see more problem on after basic-educational system. It is more mental aspect I think than brain aspect. I have discussed this a lot with some of my friends that study abroad, they say that the subject studied in Indonesia is more difficult than they had when they study abroad. But, the system on Western countries is more organized and efficient I think, that's why sometimes we think that our education system might be so boring and tiring. If you ask about necessities of education, the answer would be an absolute yes! Go to formal school is important also for social-character building. It is very important as a part of education to interact with group of similar ages, isn't it? And also, going to formal school means more chances to build a relationship in the future. So, does the education system need a change? Yes, it will always change, even if we don't want to change it, there's no way we can always keep the old conservative educational system to this modern era, right? :)

In my personal view,education is necessary but schooling is not.The latter seems to wash students' brains and kill their creativity.We were born different from others.We have our own kinds of advantages and disadvantages.But schooling tends to shortening both .Though those who were born to have a math-disability have been trained several years to have a good command of maths,their potential of art is killed in the meantime. One can gain knowledge by vast means.Books,movies,historic sites and your parents and neighbours and even the nature itself can be your teachers. Why do we just focus on schooling?Is life just about getting a good job and earning a living on it? Schooling has twistted the original idea of education.

Ya education was always important and will always remain important. But today with the advent of fast internet it is possible to access majority of resources at ones home. Education can also be made interesting by including flash programs games all possible thorough internet, therefore the method of educating oneself had changed but this had not changed the necessity of the education. what do you say?
