When I was younger, I used to hate it when people tell me I look younger than my real age but as I got old, I am now on my 20s, I really enjoy it when people tell me i look way younger. I also don't have to dress up formal for work or fond of getting made up so people can never tell what my exact age is. How about you? Do you feel you look your age? Do you change things like how you dress up or put on makeup in accordance with your age? Do people think you are younger or older than what you truly are?

Hi,
I think I look younger when I am happy and satisfied and older when something is eating me away from inside. I've done a few experiments and I think your mental state really matters. You have to keep yourself away from unnecessary worries to look younger. Some people have obsessions in looking older, don't know the reason behind it. But I think friends will agree with me that it highly depends on your habits, especially mental.
God bless you ...

Hey, Getbiswa.
I am absolutely agree with you! I noticed that when I have too many troubles around me I look older, but when I am happy and there is nothing to worry I look better - fresh and young.
We must be more calm but it's impossible, because we are HUMANS and we have our minds and hearts ...

Hi,
Please call me biswa. I think its possible. If we have body and mind, that means we own our body and mind. We can control our mind if we try hard. Yes, I've seen people practice tremendous control over mind. One way is to continuously live "in the present". I mean, most of the time we let our mind stay either in our past or in future. But we have to understand this thing, that past has gone out our hands, and the future is a million miles away. What we actually have with us is our present. So we better make our present beautiful. Its a form of meditation.
Take care...

Well everyone I meet and have met says that I look a lot younger then my actual age, for example when I wear make up people think I'm older, but when I dont wear make up people think I'm still a teen its kind of nice sometimes I guess, accept when people treat me like a youngster but I guess I should be thankful for this blessing of looking younger.

I think I look my age but no idea to be honest.
Most people think am 30 or so they say though prob just being polite.
As if someone asked me how old someone was I'd think of their age and take a few years off just to be polite lol,
so yeah I think I do but only you guys now if I do or not lol,

I really am not good at telling a person's age so I also do that trick. I don't want to upset anyone so if I am unsure, I just refuse to answer or take a few years off whatever age I think they have..I wouldn't wanna call it lying but more of being nice and polite. At least you have made someone happy..I also want other people to do the same when asked about my age, that's why..lol

Whenever someone asks me how old I am, I would usually reply "Guess?". And they would give me numbers that are below my actual age, which is actually a complement for me. I feel I am a look younger than my actual age. Despite that, it is still important to dress in a manner suitable to your age. I am fond of classics, dresses, capri pants, pedal pushers, the basic black dress that could complement your accessories, the open toed high heels, make up, hairspray. Colors that suit me are red, brown, pink, blue, black, yellow, white, beige, green. Orange and purple looks bad on my skin so I never wear it at all.

@ lizbenetua:
I would have to agree with you. It surely feels nice when people tell me that I look younger than what I truly am. But sometimes, I can't help but think that they just cut off a few years from what they really think my age is just to be courteous or something.lol. but anyway, it really is a nice compliment still..happy mylotting!
@biswa:
Very true indeed! I couldn't agree more.

Hi,
I am telling you what your age is. I am guessing it from the profile photo you've uploaded here. You are 22-27. Am I right? Purer thoughts prevents your mind and body from aging. I believe, simplicity and faith always has something to do with your appearance. You have an angelic face, I must confess.
God bless you..

All through my life I have looked much younger than I am. Now that I'm sixty-nine, it's great to be told you look in your fifties. It does make one feel good.

I have not been too lenient to my body in the past and the years of stuffing myself with all the junk foods and regular drinking has trapped me in an old body but saved by a youthful face. I had taken great care of my face but neglected my body which I now regret. I am trying to balance my overall physical outlook by regular exercise which will take a long time to get back on track. It is my body that give away my real age otherwise I can still be mistaken for a lady of 35 yrs old by looking at me from my neck upwards.

People would usually mistake me for someone older. I can't blame them though, I do look old, add my height to the traits that they see and it also adds some years in my appearance. However, I did try to get a hair cut and some of my colleagues told me that I look better and even younger.
I really don't mind if I look old. That's much better in fact since people would have that seemingly odd nature to respect those who are older than they are. They would often address me with honorifics that I don't really want to get used to.

Yeah, its sometimes awkward too when shorter people tend to be more older than I am, so I often try to show respect at times to most people I get to meet. Then, when they would eventually ask how old I am and say how old they are, they would eventually want me to stop with the honorifics when they would find out our age differences.
I am not really used to being called Sir most of the time so if its alright, I'd ask them to stop it too and just call me by my known name that most people call me with.

I certainly agree with you. Height does affect most people's perception of age. I am petite an I have been this height almost forever that is why people feel like I am way younger than my true age. I also have to agree that people often show more respect to people older than them so it's a positive thing to be perceived as older sometimes, I guess. Happy mylotting! :D

There is actually a funny story that happened to my wife and I in Wal-Mart a few years back. We had gone out to eat that night, and I had just shaved before we went out to eat. My wife and I went to Wal-Mart after we left the restaurant, and were standing together on the aisle looking at some things. There was a lady we didn’t know on the aisle with us, and she was browsing not far from us. I walked around to the other aisle, and my wife didn’t notice I had walked away, so she started looking around for me. The lady that was on the aisle with her noticed her looking for me, and she said to my wife, “If you are looking for your SON, he walked around the corner.” I thought I was going to die laughing at my wife. LOL From this point on, I have been forbidden to shave before going out with my wife LOL

I look just about my age and I'm happy that way. My hair is greying and I have some wrinkles, the skin is beginning to sag and my joints are getting creaky. I'm 55 and I have no desire to look younger than I am. I'm proud of my age and that I've made it this far--in fact, I'm surprised I've made it this far! (I lived fast and partied hard when I was younger!) It doesn't bother me at all to look my age--I could try to disguise it but I couldn't change the fact that the years are adding up no matter how I dressed or tried to change my face.

when i was younger, people always think i'm older. when i was 13, i was often mistaken as a 17-year-old. when i was 18, someone thought i was already 25!
however, that changed when i passed 21 years old. since then, i've not changed much. so others always think i'm in my twenties. it doesn't affect me much though sometimes i do feel flattered when others think i'm in my mid-twenties. that is 10 years off my actual age.

hi calai618 most people think I am in my sixties and are astonished when I say I am 83 but my hair is snow white, my eyes,my best feature, are blue green and I am a bit overweight
but I smile more than frown so I do not have the scowl lines so many people my age have, also I wear my hair long which my best friend thinks no one myage should go,but I really look awful with too short hair. so anyway if people want to think I look younger who am I to quibble anyway.I know how old I am and thats pretty
old but I feel young at heart so there.

I'm short, so people have always thought I was younger than I really was. I'm in my early 40's and other moms who are in their 30's think I am younger than they are! I am Asian, and often I find that it's hard to tell Asian people's ages - so that could be it too. If people don't know me, they can't guess my age . . . but if they talk to me for a while, they'll know what I've done in life and can probably guess my age better.

Hi Calai6! I am way way older than you so when somebody tells me that i don't look my age i really feel elated. At this stage of my life i realized that taking care of one's self is very important. Diet is really a factor in maintaining ones youthfulness as well as lifestyle. When i was younger meat is seldom in my diet, we grew up in vegetables and fish. I think that helped a lot. Also fruits are essential and should be eaten everyday. Take good care of your body, enjoy your youth, take pictures of yourself so that when you aged you can look at your pictures and reminisce.

i do look like my age
yes dress up or put on makeup can make you look younger or even older that is the purpose of makeup
but in my opinion we should not care so much about this as sooner or later we all would be old and there is nothing that can really help us to hide our age.
everyone age so i think is best to enjoy every moment of your life before you realize you lost your youth.
the most important is not the looks but the heart.
if your heart is still a youth then you will act and think like a youth no matter how old you look

People think I look younger than my age, too. I am 21 and people say I look 15ish. That does not make me angry or anything, it actually is very interesting when people get my age wrong. For example, a funny memory I have is that once I was hanging out with a friend and one of his friends. I do not remember exactly what we were talking about, but at some point his friend just turned to me and looking very surprised said: "Oh, I thought you were in High School!". I do hope, though, that my mental age shows them all that I am not as young as they think I am.
