How much will you spend on Christmas this year?

I am thinking that I will only be able to spend around 100$ if that. I know that may not seem like a whole lot but for me I feel being able to spend anything is a blessing in it's self. I feel to spend too much on Christmas defeats the purpose of the season. Next year I plan and hope I am able to help someone else instead of not being able to get all of what my girls would like. So how much will you spend this year on Christmas concerning the gifts aspect?

I really did not figure up how much I wanted to spend this year for Christmas. I actually spent more than what I had planned on spending. This is my daughter's last big year for Christmas as she will be 18 in February and will graduate and turn into a young adult. We bought her some nice gifts to get her started in her adult years. I did not add up what was spent though. I just bought as funds became available.

Hi Mom, I think that's fine. I am planning to do the same in terms of how much budget i will be spending for gifts--$100.00 is equivalent to almost P4,600-4800 pesos our currency i can still extend it up to 5,000 pesos. I know with this amount i will be able to get ideal things for my loved ones and friends. I love giving gifts and tokens, even small ones. It's the thought that counts!

I hope to spend $10 per person, which does not seem like a lot, but as you said, that should not be the whole idea behind this wonderful holiday, anyway. A few years ago, I started a Christmas club through my credit union, and add something to it each month, which really helps, as I don't have to come up with gift money all at one time. I reacquainted myself with knitting and crocheting, and also give out more handmade gifts in recent years. It all helps. Karen

I like to spend $200 for this upcoming Christmas. I can still earn it I know. i will just work hard to have that amount again. I want this Christmas to make everyone happy. Actually that amount I had said is just a small amount, I wish I can be able to save something out of it. I want every gifts to be given will be very useful for those who deserved to received it.

Yes, you are right, being able to set aside a budget is blessing enough! I also loathe to spend and spend during Christmas, since the real reason for the season is the miracle of Christ's birth and we should be celebrating Christ! more than exchanging gifts. Too often, christmas has become a retailer's cash cow and they milk all the meaning out of it. Personally, I will try to tell my friends not to buy me gifts and not to have gifts exchange. But for a few close friends, I will still have to do it cos they have kids too and i think i am willing to make exceptions to buy gifts for children. somehow they associate christmas with presents. and i wouldn't want to be scrooge. so i suppose my budget would be around $200.

Let's see... maybe three hundred? maybe more i'm not sure. We've only got one more thing to get, and that is $30.00... After that we'll be done with our Christmas Shopping. We keep thinking of people to get something for, lol. I know it seems like a lot, but technically we will have spent oh... $750.00? Though the $450.00 will be paid back to use... in total we're owed $600.00 lol.

Your right about the being able to spend anything as being a blessing! Alot of expensive gifts do take attention off the meaning of Christmas. I'm not sure exactly how much I'm going to be spending this year. I'm kind of touch and go right now. I have had to work a lot of overtime at work so I'll have a lillte extra but I'm thinking of hard times and how much of that I should be saving. I'll probably get the girls each a nice gift and a few little things that they really need.

I will be spending a lot less then what I usually spend for Christmas. With the bad economy will have to use most of money to pay bills this Christmas.

I'm hoping to only spend about $20 - but that's because I can't figure out what else to get my brother besides a gift card.

Hmm...I don't know how much I'm going to spend on Christmas this year. I usually don't spend as much, only around $150 or so, each year and I think that's about right. Usually half of that is tip money I earn so it doesn't really strain my budget. Besides, my family has an understanding. We're not all made of money so we don't expect anything too fancy or anything like that.

I'm hoping to only spend between $200 and $300 dllars this Christmas Season. I also intend not to put anything on a credit card. I'm spending alot less this year because it can get so out of hand and I truly don't want that to happen this year. So far I have brought 5 gifts and they are all paid for with cash.

I won't be spending as much as I have in the past. Maybe $200, if that. I am making care packages for everyone this year. I was able to get some nice baskets at the Dollar Tree and some other nick knacks and items. Pretty much everything else will be homemade. For my kids, I went to Ollie's and Big Lots. Ollie's has cute stuff once in awhile, so I found more at Big Lots.

I think I will spend less than you this year or about the same. In fact it doesn't matter how much the gifts cost, for many people the price is not so important as the object itself. A useful gift but not so expensive would bring more joy than an useless and expensive one.The thing to do is to find them!
