Mylot now and then

I joined Mylot 3 years ago. At that time Mylot members were so busy posting discussions and responding all the time. Also popular discussions used to get over near 100 responses. Now it seems so slow. There are not much new discussions at a given point of time like it was before. Mylot now is not like what it was like 3 years or 2 years ago. I was not very regular from like last 1 year (or can say almost absent) and when I came back few days back I was disappointed to see the way how Mylot is now. But I love Mylot any way, so I am here with all my enthusiasm.
I hope member from that time will be able to relate to my saying.
Happy Mylotting friends!

Yes, We also have to consider, of which I did not until your response, that the time of the year means more people are busy. It's Christmas time and I am sure that most people are out spending the money they've made on mylot for the year, lol!
But I do hope more people will be active, especially those who have been here for years and have fallen inactive.

hi sweetlady I also have been here about the same length but missed 11 months because of some bad troubles but am back and I think some of this is all the one line discussions from newer people who are in such a hurry that the topics are not really very interesting. Like your favorite color, your favorite flavor of ice cream, your favorite song, dance, game etc etc etc all which can be answered in two orthree words.where is the discussion in that? Why not take a little time and only make one discussion. one poster here made about forty in less than two days and yet she never responds to any of my discussions. what is that all about? However I love mylot and I am not giving it up at all.

Hatley,
Determination will prevail! That is to say that being determined to stay and stick to the rules will keep us all afloat. We need more people to serve as "examples" in that way. There are too many discussions with one liners, and even I know that my many discussions need to be lessened so I can comment back to everyone fairly and not get overwhelmed. We're here to have fun and not overwhelm ourselves, and even with that being said, we can have fun with also staying within guidelines... lol
Am I right?

I joined mylot some 9 months back...I have no Idea how it was 3 years back but there has been few discussions that tells about it....some of the comments says back then it was easier to earn here...many like me come here to earn but when they realize earning is not as easy as they thought they just use mylot for getting information and making friends or just responding to discussions which they like...

Yes I've been here for two years and was told that four years ago and even there years ago it was much easier to earn here. I believe the site is four years old. I think we can still earn here if we just all try to work together, that is to say commenting and responding and discussing some more, but with more quality then quantity. We can easily comment to everyone by taking just one sentence from what they said if nothing else, and commenting on it, giving our opinion or telling them simply we agree with them.
It's not hard to make the comments long, just by being as descriptive as possible just as beside the comment box describes.
Well I hope you also have a wonderful day and welcome to mylot... Have fun, and I do agree that it seems more people come here and decide they don't make as much as they would have liked, but instead of leaving just stays for the informaton and for making friends, or responding to discussions they like, so basically for fun... lol.

Hi sweetlady10,
I am a new member here in myLot. I have only joined here not more than 10 days. I find it interesting as there are different kinds of questions here, and I can learn from some people's opinion or comments on others' dicussions. Some discussions even stimulated my thought and provided different angles of thinking. Sometimes I can offer help to others and ease their pain. It is really nice to do so. I did post some discussions which related to life.
I do not know how good the past were. I believe that it needs everyone's contributions. So, please post more discussions and keep up with your enthusiasm. Thank you.
Best wishes,

agonyaunt69,
Let me first tell you that I admire you adding a time stamp so that we know when exactly you posted per your time zone. I find that very interesting and also helpful. The site has changed a lot from when I first came on here two years ago, and I hear it's come a long way since it began four years ago.
All I can say is we should all do our best to have fun but keep up quality and good manners by following guidelines... It's always fun to respond to people, comment to people, and hope that you've helped them understand something, or just have fun along the way...
Of course money is a good bonus as well.
Have a wonderful day and happy mylotting.

Hi cher, thanks for your response!
I don't think it is worse, I just think there are less activity, though there are more members now.

I think that, compared to a few months back, there are more users who comment on their own discussions rather than starting new ones.
Politics are not as busy as they used to be somany users who enjoyed that intrest have probably moved elsewhere.

I agree mysdianait, don't see discussions related to politics.

Welcome back!
Some days are busier than others now. Bear in mind that it is also holiday month so many might be busy offline with those preparations.
There has also been an influx of users who seem to think that you can earn big here. I guess there are some promotions somewhere suggesting X cents per post, which are not true at all, but have probably enticed a different type of user.
Many stick to their own discussions or don't start many, preferring to respond on others but there is still something for all tastes every day.

you know Aunt D, there still something that bothers me, when i still had my old account, when ever i gave advice on how to earn here at mylot or at least give a few tips, it gets deleted. i know i understand that now, but i do know some one who does the same and yet such topics are deleted at all. so many but annoying users as well, time sure flies by but am gad your generation is still around.

I would really love to see discussions with 100 or more responses. I have seen these types of discussions before but you are right they are becoming more few and far between. I was here two years ago, and it seems then there were more people who were apt to type more as well. Now there's a bunch of members who don't type as much, and sometimes that's only because of language barrier, or being new here... I just wish we could all get back into the groove of many responses, and even comments. I love commenting, and hope you don't mind me "barging" into your discussions to comment, but your discussions are of interest of me, as well as the fish bowl, I find that to be a nice avatar! lol!

I am glad that you liked my avatar and find my discussions interesting :). I don't mind at all you commenting on my discussions.
I really hope that like in earlier days we will get busy and find more interesting discussions and discussions will be full of more than 100 responses:).

I am glad to hear that you don't mind me commenting on your discussions. I really do hope more discussions with loads of replies will pop up too, to me that is more like a "forum" lol, I mean when there's pages and pages of informative or just fun context!

Hello sweetlady,
This is the first time I have encountered you and i am happy that you noticed. don't be deceived by the number of my post, this account is only three months old but i have been here for at least more than a Year now and i can understand what you mean.
I was here last year so i got a glimpse of what you were referring to. Personally this time i think most people tend to avoid politics most specially if it's not related to their country.some also tend to avoid serious topics and neglect research if such topics are created already.
And most tend to either forget reading the mylot rules or simply just ignored them until they are either suspended or banned.
Personally, i can understand how disappointed you are, most people now here in mylot are dominated by foreigners (like me) but some still lack quality over the post and every person for themselves in making new topics.
and some tend to choose the topic of their choice and not because it's just..there. there had been so many changes. but i don't know the kind of discussions that was discuss way back three years ago.
BUt one thing I like now, Less Trolls. still there some Neg. Raters out there.

It should not be a matter that people from all over the world are here in a big number, as long as the quality discussions and responses are posted. But sometime the member not being English language native makes it difficult to understand the discussion or it affect the discussion.
Hope you will be here enjoying the good interesting discussions.

I'm new to mylot and personal got into this because I'm on the internet anyway i might as well get some pennies for it. Maybe after to or three years I will have made enough to purchase a new computer. LOL
anyway, I'm still trying to figure out how it all works. I like posting to discussions and I like that I get a notice if some replies to what I wrote, manly because I'm not on the computer long enough in any one setting to continue with a discussion. I like that I can come back to it later when my I check my email. I was reading some of what was posted and I agree it gets hard to keep track of what is going on, so I try to get into discussions that have just started, as I can actually wrap my mind around it.
thanks for sharing.

Well, I think the economy might have something to do with the lack of
responses since most people are probably busy working to pay their debts
or looking for another job. Also, people get lazy like myself and prefer
to respond only to familiar topics.
Well, I was happy to hear from you sweetlady since I kind of
miss your discussions.

I have notice the changes too. I started my first account a year and half ago and I was able to get a reasonable daily amount. It is just these days I have found that I am not able to respond to as many discussions because I am unable to contribute to the discussions.
But I do manage to find some time to come here and look for some discussions that take my interest.

From my time here in MyLot, I've also noticed a decline in the number of posts and general activity. Perhaps it's because users have grown bored and moved on, or have simply drifted away and forgotten about MyLot.
However, regardless of this, it is still an amazing community, and far friendlier than any you are likely to find here in the relentless world of the internet. The discussions, although appears to be less of them now than before, remain as varied and interesting as I have always known to be, and I find it difficult to imagine a day passing by when I don't come here and check up on how things are doing.
Happy MyLotting everybody!

Welcome back then sweetlady10!
Maybe you can bring back all the enthusiasm back. And all the interesting discussions that fetch a 100 or so responses. I am a relative newbie, but I try to post discussions too. Unfortunately, I am most of the time not interesting enough to get more than 13 responses. 13, I think that was my highest.

bounce, don't worry, you are doing good. What I have realized is these days getting 13 response is a success. In most of the discussions I see only one page, that means not more than 10 responses.

It's great that you have been with myLot for 3 years and still participate! Every new site with a good idea in it has people joining up in hordes and participating in it. Holding the viewers interest and increasing particpation is upto the site itslef which will need to promote it and make sure that there are new things coming up all the time to sustain interest. An example is Facebook which is gaining in popularity due to plenty of innovation that is being introduced regularly. Since I am a new memeber here, I would not know how many changes myLot has gone through in last few years and how many new features have been introduced. But I do like the site and manage to spend half an hour to one hour every day participating in various discussions. Since you have been a member for 3 years let everyone also know your thoughts on how myLot could be made even better to increase the number of discussions and participation.
