My friend was having pains in the shanks, feet and the heels. The orthopedic surgeon told her that she needs to change her shoes. She is quite tall and wears flattish slippers that are in vogue and also very flat shoes. I, after my knee problems, have been wearing flat shoes as well.
But now, we are being told to wear slightly elevated heeled shoes. It must not be stiletoes but little heeled.
What kind of shoes you wear for regular use? Are you comfortable in it?

During my childhood, I had a slight flat footed problem. As a result of which my legs would pain after walking some distance. I was then advised to wear arches inside the shoes for sometime, which i did after which the problem disappeared and I was able to wear normal shoes. I can't wear the ones which are slighlty pointing towards the end, as was in fashion sometime ago, only for the reason that they tend to compress my toes and hurt them.
Light shoes, slipons are the one's i'm most comfortable with.

Arches inside the shoes! dos that mean a slant towards the toe! The doctor said the same. He didn't endorse high heels but little heels.

I wear flats, rubber shoes mostly.^_^ I dont have any problem with my shoes. Only when they're old and worn out that the padding on the in sole have already been worn thin that I could feel the pattern inside. That isnt advisable to be worn when walking long distances or walking for an extended period of time. That's the case with my school shoes. They have been the ones that I had since first year. I dont plan on buying a new one because I only have a few more months of school to go and I think I can bear it. I only need to wear them every other day so my feet does get a bit of rest. As for the other days I wear my rubber shoes. I like to wear them cause they're good for walking or for running errands. The only time that they're not comfortable is when they're new. My feet and the shoes are still adjusting to each other so its expected that there might be some slight discomfort at first.^_^

Since I am a 75 year old retiree with MS, I wear mostly flats. Recently, I went shopping for a pair of dress shoes. I found exactly what I wanted with one exception, the heels were higher than I wanted. I was hoping for a one or one and a half inch heel, but my almost perfect shoe had a heel that was 2 3/4 inches. I bought them anyway. So far, they have not given me any problems, but I don't try to walk any distance in them, either.

Hi mimpi1911
I usually wear little heeled shoes! Waw, so it is the right shoes to wear? I'm so happy and thanks for your info!
I love heels, I try to choose the shoes which has heels, no matter only small or high heels. Usually I go to college with little heeled shoes. In party or go out, I use high heels. I rarely use rally flat shoes. Slippers only in home. I don't feel comfortable use flat shoes too long, just because it feels flat and like I don't wear shoes at all..
About pained by shoes, usually new shoes will pain me in heels and back of my feet. I simply use plaster to reduce the friction between my feet and new shoes

Hey mimpi! I tried to respond to this discussion twice and the
site kicked me out! Am trying again! I haven't worn high heels
in years! Even when I did wear them, they were never that high
because I am very clumsy and am always tripping and falling!
I broke my foot years ago while wearing wedge sandals and tripping
in a pothole! My foot turned over in shoe and I ended up with
a sprial fracture! Ouch! I had to wear a cast from the foot to
the knee for 6 weeks and it was awful! I now wear sandals in
the Summer, sometimes with a little heel! And in the Winter,
I love to wear boots! I have all different types with all
different kinds of heels, but mostly just regualar square heels!
I think boots are my very favorites! I have all different colors
and styles! I just bought an incredible pair of Navy St. John's
Bay Boots that are mid-calf, sort of crunch leather boots from
JC Penney online! I had never bought shoes online before and I
was really scared! But, they were perfect and fit great and are
so sexy looking! My boyfriend loves them with skinny jeans! I
may be "an older woman", but I still know how to "style"!

My daughter and I had a lot of fun trying on very high heeled shoes in the stores the other week. She’s only eight and the only heels she wears are on her ballroom shoes and they’re not that big! I have no idea how I handled the tall stilettos I used to wear a few years ago. These days I wear mostly flat shoes and the occasional medium sized heel.
I’ve think the really tall ones can’t be good for one’s feet and completely flat one are properly not great either. It us probably a good idea to wear something in between!

I do get pained by shoes and especially when I wear then the first time, but after a while, I get used to it. I prefare low heeled shoes and slippers, they are more comfy. I will try to get used to heels soon

Hi Mimpi,
i seldom wear flat shoes. It pains me too. So i used to wear shoes with an inch heels and most of the time high-heeled shoes. I have a slipper in the office so i can rest my feet. But during trainings where i need to stand up in front to facilitate the training, i wear those slightly heeled shoes for more comfort for a whole day training!

I am fond of buying shoes comfortability should be on the first in my list I don't ming whether they are expensive as long as my feet is comfortable in it. The expensive the shoes the more comfortable our feet is & plus they are more durable than those local we have. The more we can save for we can use them for a long period of time.

I wear Coumbia River sandals. They are made for climbing on wet rocks. I do not actually walk on wet stones under the water very often, but they have good traction.
But I live below the Grand Canyon and sometimes they divert the flow of water in my river. So once when the water was low, I did walk out into the water, and yes the rocks were very slippery so it was nice to have good hiking shoes.
These are the most comfortable shoes I could find and for me one's productivity is dependent on comfortable clothes and especially comfortable footwear.
Here are my shoes:

Hey mimpi! I was never comfortable wearing really high heels
even in my younger days! And now I have very severe knee problems
too and arthritis so I tend to wear sneakers alot for comfort!
But, when it comes to wanting to be in fashion that's another
thing! In the Summer I wear all kinds of sandals. Some with slight
wedges, but nothing too high or dangerous! In the Winter, like
now I get to wear all kinds of boots which are my very favorites!
I have boots with a slight heels, mostly square so I don't
fall and I have some with slight wedges! But, no really high
heels for me! Those days are long gone!

I usually wear sneaker most of the time. When it is cold I have a pair of suede shoes that are waterproof and have a thick leather sole that I wear. They are very comforable and warm to wear.
