Hello mylotters I needed to share some of my hurt feelings with you. My husband had asked me what I wanted for Christmas this year. We normally don't buy for each other so this kinda took me by surprise. I thought about it for a few days and came up with something. I wanted a Yorkie Puppy. So yesterday I decided to start looking for one. I made several phone calls but couldn't find one at all. One of the ladies that I was talking with was saying that there is Yorkies online ads. I went looking for those.
I came across a female Yorkie Puppy that someone has listed and gave an email address. I emailed them right away. I got quick response back. They had moved to a new location and with the hours they worked they couldn't be home witht the little one. They was willing to give the puppy away as long as I could keep them updated on her. We emailed back and forth for over an hour. I was getting so excited about getting the baby. The last email I sent I was asking what shipping company they used because they said that they could ship her to us if we paid the shipping on her.
I then get the email back that looked really strange. All of a sudden they started typing their message really off. They told me to us my own shipping company and let them know who I used.
It ended up being a scam..I was so hurt over the ordeal that I started to cry. See a Yorkie is what I have always wanted. I don't have the big money to put out on one and to think that someone out there was really caring about their pet to find it a good home. Boy was I wrong. So now I am back to the drawing board and hope that I don't get scammed by someone.
Thanks mylotters for listening...

Hi msfrancisco
Im doing alot better now. I have ran across so many more like this. I have gotten some local phone numbers today. I called a couple of them and no luck. But now it is looking like that I will have to wait until after christmas to find my beloved little companion. Hubby got news today that he might more than likely get laid off for the whole week of christmas and maybe two. So I decided that I would wait until after the holidays and then search real hard then.
Thanks for your kind words and thoughts. Have a good evening.
Keep smiling.

It's terrible to be scammed over a puppy! That is just weird as well! Have you tried going to the vet's office and seeing if they know of any programs like say they pound or humane society that will work with your or is fairly cheap?
It goes to show that even things like that needs credentials!

If you found him from a website maybe it's best to report him to the website. Someone may try to get the same puppy and be out money!

Yeah I never thought of that. I will go do that and see what comes of it. I know that I am still in shock over the whole thing. I guess I am just too trusting of people.

Hi cowgirl
I was so surprised about the whole ordeal. I guess that I trust people a little too much. It all good until I asked for the shipping company's name and then he started talking really different. It just didn't seem right at all. I never went back to his last email and he hasn't emailed me back either.
Thanks for sharing and have a nice day.
Keep smiling.

I am so sorry. What a let down. Can you check in your local newspaper or your local newspaper online? Locally you should be able to find a Yorkie but know what you mean about paying big bucks for the dog. Guess it depends on how badly you want a Yorkie. Wish you much success with your search.

Hi carolbee
Yes I have looked in the local paper. There wasn't any. It is almost like they are far and inbetween in my immediate area right now. I pretty much knew that I would have to go out of town to find one. I wasn't really expecting to go that far out of my way. Then when he said he could ship, I was even more tickled. Well I have decided that if I can't drive and pick up the baby then I will have to look else where.

Hi kitty
Boy have I missed seeing you around. I hope that all is going well with you. I have really learned my lesson about looking for a Yorkie on the web. I have contacted some local people and have gotten some phones numbers. It looks like it might be after christmas before I will be able to get one. Only time will tell. Good to have you back and have a wonderful weekend.
Keep smiling.
Here a little special hug for you.

Hey kitty
Are you getting any snow up there? I woke this morning and it had started snowing. Where I live now it makes it so pretty. We live up on a hill that looks out over the valley. If I can find my camera I will try and take a pic of what it looks like. They are giving us about 2 inches of snow due today. I can't drive in the stuff but hubby is off today so he can go do my errors for me..LOL
Have a good day and keep smiling.
Sending a big cyber hug.

Another thing you can do while you wait for the perfect dog to show up is volunteer at a shelter if there is one near your house. I worked at a shelter last summer, and while the work was kind of boring and tedious, it's worth it just to be around all of the adorable animals and know that you are helping them. For me, there is something more satisfying about helping animals to people. I know that's kind of weird, but I think it's because animals are so innocent. No matter what, a dog will love you unconditionally, and that's not so true of people. There's something so sweet about animals that I love so much, it just makes me so sad to see an animal living in bad conditions. One of my favorite quotes is "If everyone was the person their dog thought they were, the world would be a much better place". That pretty much sums it up. Cheers!

You are right speed. They love you no matter what. You can see their happiness in their eyes. I don't have a shelter close enough to me to be able to work for them on a volunteer situation. I like that ideal though. I think that I will call them again tomorrow and see if they will take my name and number for just in case purposes. That might work. Thanks for giving me some thoughts. Have a good evening and remember to keep smiling.

Hello Rosepedal64, scams like these happen all to often, and the scammers just want to line their pockets with a quick dollar via exploting the vulnerabilities and consumerr wants of others, its appauling in circumstances like this because there really are dogs that need a new loving home, and you sound like a perfect person to house a dog, its upsetting to hear about you getting your hopes up and always wanting a yorkie to have that dream smashed all this for a $150 scam..sickening :(

Hi jake
I know it is crazy. People like myself are really looking for that special baby to give a home to and then they think that they have to scam us for our feelings. I have since then found several that are doing this. I have took it upon myself to report each and everyone that I run across.
Thanks for your kind words. Have a great day and keep smiling.

Don't feel so bad sweety. You've lost nothing and you have learned a very valuable lesson. The getting of a puppy should be done with your brain, not your heart. Scam artists will only be able to operate if people function from their heart and not their head...that's why so many scam artists aim for peoples emotions.
When the time is right, you will get your pup.

There are alot of people out there that are like that, they do not care who they hurt no mopre than what they have to do to get the money.A friend of mine nearly got caught out like that except the person slipped up on an email as well as there was a message she recieved by her friend saying the same thing yet there was only one puppy in total.Have you asked at the rescue homes as there are pups as well as adult dog there and they also know if the dog has any health problems.Just an idea.

Im going to check tomorrow on some other leads that I have. I might not get a Yorkie before Christmas. Thanks for your thoughts. Have a good evening. Keep smiling.

Sorry you are not going to get your Yorkie Puppy. I do not understand what they are getting out of this because you said it was free and they wanted a good home for the puppy. How can you use your shipping company to have a puppy sent from them. It definitely has to be some kind of scam.

I think if I had went thru with it they would have gotten my $150 dollars but I would have not gotten the puppy at all. I think that is where the scam comes in at. Also I asked for recent pics of them and they never responded back to me on that either. I wonder how many others they have taken advantage of.
Thanks for your comment and have a great day and keep smiling.

Are there any dog breeders at all in the area that you live in? Even though those breeders may not breed Yorkies, there is a good chance that they might know someone that does. My husband has a friend that is a breeder of small breeds, but I'm pretty sure that she doesn't do Yorkies. Since I don't know where you live I hesitate to say that I will check with Karen for you, but you might check with breeders in your area and see if they know someone that does breed Yorkies.

I checked with a lady yesterday and she in return gave some numbers of some other breeders. I have left messages with them and hoping that they will call me back. That is how I actually started looking was from the lady talking about the prices on the internet for Yorkies. Thanks for the suggestions and I will try them again tomorrow.
Have a nice day and keep smiling.

Hmm.. I don't quite understand what they are scamming you about? I mean, how are they getting anything out of this?
Anyhow, it's sad really that you have to go through this thing and they have lead you on for quite a number of discussions or correspondences before they really showed their real juice.
I just hope these scammers would have a bad timing and try to scam someone who won't give up that easily and would trace them back and have them locked up.

Hi layee
The way that this happen was that when I asked for the company that they was using to ship the puppy to me then all of a sudden they said that I could use my own shipping company. I thought that was strange when they wouldn't give me an answer. I also asked for recent pics and they still avoided that too.
Thanks for sharing and have a nice day.

Hi, Rose! Huh, these people will try everything to rip others off! Don't feel sad... I hope you will find a way to get the Yorkie Puppy. I never knew they are called Yorkies. So cute. I have seen this type of pups in one of the pet shops in town. It costs about $700 plus!
Anyway, did you report the scammers? At least you realized it earlier because who knows whether they do have the Yorkie or not and they might send you something else.

I am so sorry that you got scammed especially so close to Christmas. Have you looked in your local paper to see if someone has a Yorkie puppy? Is there an animal shelter in your area maybe they have one. There is a legitimate web site called petfinders.com try looking on there. That is how I found my oldest cat Kali and my newest cat Smyles.
I wish you the best of luck.

I will check out that site and see what they have within reason of my residence. I also had just checked on a puppy that is close in the area to me. She keeps them outside which I think is not good for their size and age. I might try and go look at them but I will let you know what happens.
Thanks for sharing and have a great day.
