Ive heard like 3 so far. Doomsday some other 2012 movie with chicks and this one where africa is left. I think they took this to account too much. This is like there is too many vampire movies. Do they just go as a trend and everyone does the same thing. I mean seriously I could use a good new movie.

I think movie writers & producers prey on our insecurities, and that's why movies like 2012 do so well - and that's why we see so many other similar movies popping up, too. I am a non-believer in the world ending in 2012, I think it's silly..But a lot of people have their heads wrapped around the idea that it will actually happen. It's definitely a trend. I don't believe it, and I haven't seen 2012 (and the similar movies) - and probably won't. It's funny, because yes, as you said, both "the world ending" and "vampires" have become prominent themes in today's media. Weird.

Movie makers are running out of ideas, making movies on sensitive subjects like 2012 end of the world thing and dragging out old movies and remaking them. You are right, they need to try something new or find some really good books to make movies from.
