I am in a conundrum. I want to give away gifts for friends and family, but right now I am at a loss for thoughts. There are many new products sold at the market. I just don't want to give some generic gift. Your gift represents you as a giver. When I was a kid, in our exchange gift giving, I got face toweled in brown and maroon colors. What is a kid supposed to do with these towels? Anyway, I just hope that I get gifts these year too. Gifts that I do deserve to receive. After all, tis the season of giving.

I think personal gifts are the way to go. My husband is very hard to buy for, so I had a cartoonist draw up characatures (sp) of our 3 kids doing their favorite things and framed them. He still to this day says that was the best gift I have ever gotten for him.
Just an idea to hopefully get the brain juices flowing. I love gifts that let me know that people were paying attention to what I was talking about throughout the year, rather it be my kids or personal hobbies.

Well, who do you need to buy for, and what do they like? Sometimes I get a mental block when thinking of presents to give, too, but no matter - because I know that no matter what I get them, whether it's "generic" or "creative" or "unique", it's truly the thought that counts. That's my opinion, anyway. Your family will appreciate a gift, even if it's not the most unique thing in the world. That's the great part about giving - it's about generosity, not how expensive or unique or rare the gift is. It's the thought that counts! At least that's what I tell myself.

Gift giving really depends on the person. What are their interest. I personally at my age would love the towels especially maroon since that is one of my favorite colors.
picture frames, candles, throws are great gifts. Its what you feel in your heart that the person receiving the gift would like.
For those that seem to have everything and you just have no idea gift cards have been my only solution on that.
I think a nice blanket, vase, basket even jewlery from a market would be a wonderful gift.
Good Luck and happy giving.

THe best you could gift is a unique gift...described as hard to find. You don't have to spend a lot on these kind of gifts. Try for example, a piggy bank which speaks "oink" when you put money on it. If you give unique gifts, people tend to remember you...same as making an impression. More so, if you're creative you could create some humour to it too. It will make the christmas holiday season very joyful and fun. Try it.

Try to make the gift personal ask people that live with them what they need or what they are into. If you can't do that you could always get a prepaid Visa or MasterCard so they can shop where ever they want and aren't limited to one store. I hope you find what you are looking for and get what you want for Christmas. Good luck to you!

Great gifts to always give are food items. Make up different batches of cookies and things to give. It doesn't end up sitting around and usually does get eaten. Or if you know that someone likes a particular type of candy or something, give that a gift.
Another idea, go with something practical, some postage stamps, envelopes, note paper for an elderly family member is always useful. Or how about bath products there are many great scents on the market and if you go into discount stores you can find the items for even less.
I hope these ideas help a little Good luck with your holiday shopping and gift giving!

I know how the holidays can be...gift giving and receiving. We need to bear in mind though that the season is for love and forgiveness and being thankful. It is always nice to hand in gifts to people dear to us, in fact, it has become a tradition to many countries, however, it can be stressful to find the perfect one. I think the best gift to give to family members and friends are those silver message bracelets. My father gave me one and I really love it. It's a silver bracelet with a flat circular dangling charm -- engraved on it is a special message from dad -- "live the life you love, love the life you live - dad". I think your family member and your friends would love that and it becomes more of a meaningful gift.

I had the same problem but then I did some homework. I found a site www.successinbooks.com. I found an e-book on there about gift jars and bought it. It had hundreds of ideas in there, and so I created jars for everyone. I believe it was in the creative ideas section.
Hope this helps. Cheers!

Hi there, yes it is a season of giving and sharing but doesn't mean you always expect something in return. It is best to give without expecting anything from the receiver. I love Christmas, not just because people are buying and exchanging gifts... but because it is the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ. To honor Him, I buy gifts to give to those people whom I think really need my gifts and to let them feel special. I am so much happy to see that the receiver whom I give my gifts are more than happy as I feel.
