You don't say that you have a fever but what I would do is take first have a cup of hot tea with honey and lemon for my throat then take some Nyquil. I would bundle up with layers of pj's and a robe get into bed and sweat it out. I hope this helps and I hope you and your son feel better soon.

My husband and I dind't bother to get a flu shot, because we haven't had the flu in years, and feel that we don't need to worry. We don't get sick that often, and we do not want to put any unnecessary chemicals into our bodies, if we don't need to. We also don't want to take the chance that it might make us sick.

I don't, but my daughter was diagnosed earlier this week with asthmatic bronchitis. Her boyfriend is jokingly calling her the chirping frog. Her voice is almost completely gone. When she tries to talk it's this low, husky sound, except every word or two it squeaks almost like a mouse.

Hello jj. I am sorry that both you and your son were full of cold days ago. I wish you to be ok now. Well, I usually take some medicine for cold, which I prepare at home. But if I get a high fever, I go to the doctor for an injection. This September, I had a serious high fever and had to see a doctor though I did not want to. I had IV and it did help. Take care, friend.

Hi jugs
Since you have gotten your flu shot about the only thing that you can do now is keep plenty of liquid down you and take something for the fever and aches and pains. It will have to run its course. Im sure that wasn't what you wanted to hear at all. The main thing is liquid. It will flush it out quicker..I hope you get to feeling better real soon..
Keep smiling.

I know they say that honey is very good to take or consume. I have tried the honey lozenges and they seem to work really well. I suggest for you to try it also. It just may help.

I am also have a flu. i don't want to get sick so I drink vitamin c and I drink fruit juice and eat citrus fruit. It is so hard to have a flu because you can't sleep at night. And you will experience headache. I really hate flu, that is the second hate illness I don't want to experience. The first one is toothache. I drink also more water and rest. For me there is nothing effective, because even I had done the things I had stated like drinking vitamin c the flu still last for 3 days and more. Only we can do is to prevent it by continue drinking vitamin c and drinking fruit juice.

When I'm sick I don't sleep in my bed, I try to sleep on the couch because I can't breathe where I'm used to sleeping. Drink plenty of fluids so you won't dry out, that's what hurts the most is when your body is using all your fluids to keep you going. Hot tea is good for your throat.

You need to take something for the fever and the pain. The doctors also always say to drink lots of liquid and to get lots of sleep and then you will feel better. Then they say if you do not get better after 3 or 4 days then to come back and they will give you something.

I've actually never had a flu shot for the main reason that I hear that people are prone to catching a cold or some other sort of illness, even a mild form of the flu after they've had the shot. However, whenever I have a really bad cold, the thing that seems to be the most important to me is to make sure that I am drinking plenty of fluid because that seems to help it to run its course quicker. The other thing that I do to help with a cold is take some vitamin C tablets.

cold are signs that you have infections inside, the fact that you cough could indicate some problem on your respiratory system.
better check by your doctor, take a lot of rest, drink a lot of water and gurgle with bactidol to eliminate sore throat.
get well soon Jugs... life is sad when you are sick...

Hi. I also had flu last weekend. Since I develop allergies on some medication, I just drink lots of water and take ascorbic acid whenever I have flu. To have a good night sleep, I soak my feet on a warm water with vinegar an hour before bedtime. I learned of this therapy from a myLotter. It's been effective for me.

My 3 roomates has got the flu and i was infected since we live in the same dormitory. Luckily, we just got a common kind of flu, not the H1N1.
The weather is cold althought i dressed many warm clothes. Perhaps we shall stay at home and turn on the airconditioner. But we have to go out for classes and eating.
Keep you warm, you and your son would have a good recovery. God bless you.
