Would you ever consider homesteading?

Homesteading is gaining in popularity, especially as costs go up and wages go down. A lot of people are looking for more self reliance and getting out of the system. Would you ever consider it? Why or why not?

Yes, I would love to be able too homestead. I am now too old and physically unable to keep up with the heavy workload now.

yes, we have chickens & ducks, but I would like more animals. we plant a garden every year, but I want to plant more. One area I really need to focus on is herbs.

I would really like to do this actually, to some extent at least. Everyone should try to become more self-reliant in one aspect or another. I want to have solar panels installed on my house, and I have a deep-well in my yard that I want to get fixed so that I can start using it for some things as well. It is also good to try to grow some of your own food rather than having to buy 100% of what you eat from a store. I hope to get my well fixed within the next year, and the solar panels are hopefully something I can think about doing in the next five years or so. I am also planning to try and have a small area for gardening in the Spring. My neighbor and I are also planning to build a chicken coup in his yard, which will give us a good supply of fresh eggs, and we can also use the chicken manure for fertilizer...

It is a good idea actually giving a chance I also what to be self reliant too. I love gardening and animals if only I have money to have my own land why not. It is much cheaper and you can ensure the safety of your food because it comes from your own backyard. Owning a solar panel is expensive if only I have money I like to have one to so we are not dependent to any power company.

I have never been one much for popularity and I don't intend to start now. There is no real point. I like things the way they are. its hard to get by and I'm frustrated to all kinds of hell, but what can I do. I simply do the best i can to get by and so far that's worked for me.

It's a wonderful thing to have a owm yard.I can grow vegetables and feed cattle. Of course, that's just my dream. Now the encomy is so unstable, price inflation, many people are short of money. If we can more self-reliance,don't depend on markets too much, then maybe we wii live better.
