I have a friend, she is very love to eating bean sprouts or lightly cooked ones as they are sweeter this way. Do sprouts carry a risk of illness? Can children, pregnant women and person with weakened immune system eating raw sprouts of any kinds?
Appreciated your sharing. Have a nice day!

It can be dangerous...the chance for bacterial contamination is always there with eating raw vegetables, especially those which you do not skin. At the very least, you should always wash all raw vegetables, but cooking is definitely the safest approach. Alternatively, your friend might consider growing her own bean sprouts. You can control your own environment better and there is probably less risk of certain kinds of contamination. Unfortunately there's no such thing as total safety when it comes to food!
