hi friends. If you had watched the movie 'laggan' ,this would be much simpler.for others here it goes.
lets say the opposition needs 14 of 7 deliveries.
one batsman is on his 70's and other is a number 10 batsmen .
the batsman in his 70's is on strike for the last ball of the penultimate over.
its pretty much obvious that he is going to get a single to keep the strike and finish off the remaining 13 runs in the final over.
so you bring the field in. he taps the ball and run for a single but instead of picking it up and throwing it to the keeper ,u intentionally kick the ball to the boundary so they will need 10 runs of last over with the number 10 batsman on strike.
something like this happened in the movie but is it really possible in real cricket or something like this happened before?

I don't have example of thst. But there is is no rule in cricket that opposition cricket captain can't do this in the game. It is just a part of strategy.
