Clocks are one of the few basic and major requirements in people’s lives. It is with the help of a clock that people reach the right place on the right time. If all the clocks stop working all on a sudden, the world will go haywire and if you do not schedule your life according to time everything might crumble instantly. It is a custom as well as necessity to keep a clock in every room at home, in office and most of the other places. Previously, large grand father clocks were used but with evolving technology the clocks became smaller in size. These days clocks are available in every size and shape which usually run on battery. Digital clocks with funny and lucrative displays have been made available for children. Some digital clocks are also known as radio digital clocks as they allow people to set nice music of their choice to be set as the alarm. So, with a digital alarm clock people can rise up early listening to soothing music. Due to all these benefits, digital clock have become extremely popular. so, friends, please put your wonderful words for this discussion. thankyou, have a good day.

Hi Neelima! You are right that clocks are necessary for keeping pace with the time. Incidentally, we have clocks in every room and at every conceivable place. I believe in discipline and I perform my tasks according the set time schedule. I have seen musical digital clocks, however, have not bought the same as yet. I have a digital clock, which not only tell time, date, month, year but temperature of the room too. Have a great day!

We have clocks in almost every room. My favorite is the Grandfather clock built by my grandpa years ago, my kitchen clock is a Detroit Red Wings clock a friend found for me at a thriftstore. A few years ago when those bird clocks came out I got 4 of them for my birthday..everyone decided that since I love birds I would like hearing them sing every hour on the hour. I also feel naked if I happen to forget to wear my watch.

Hi Neel, We only have two clocks at home. One hooked in the living room and the other in our bedroom. WE relied on alarm clocks for our waking up time and on cellphone for appointment schedules. In the office we have one strategically hanged on for every employees to see, then we the computer where we logs in and out in the office.

I think we have clocks in a few rooms, particularly bedroom and bathroom, but with so many of todays gadgets (pcs, dvd players etc) there is less need to have an actual 'clock' anymore as a lot of our gadgets have them built in.

I have a wall clock in my lounge. In my kitchen my cooker has a clock on it. In my bedroom I have a clock. I saw my watch in my bathroom. It is Sunday today so I can have a rest from wearing my watch. My mobile phone has a clock on it. Knowing the time is really important. I think grand father clocks look very attractive however I don't have room for one in my home. My kitchen clock is digital. Yes, clocks have got smaller in size over the years. Funnily enough I used to have a talking clock. I took it to Kenya and it went wrong. It began talking at two in the morning.

I had not considered how many time devices we have in the house before! We do have clocks or something displaying the current time in every room except the bathrooms and toilets. The handset of our phones even have the time on them and of course there’s the computers and our cell phones, they all have the time so, realistically, there is absolutely no excuse for our family to be late for anything!

We only have clocks in the traditional sense in our bedroom and in our daughter's bedroom. We don't have one in our son's room yet because he is only three years old and doesn't need to have a clock in his room yet. However, we do have time pieces in the majority of the other rooms in the house. In the living room our cable box displays the time. In the kitchen we have both the stove and the microwave that have digital time displays and in our office both of the computers have a clock on them. Therefore, I think there is a time piece in every room in our house except for the bathroom.

Hi neelima We do not keep a clock or time piece in every room because the children will always be wearing a watch. so they make use of it. I will be always in the kitchen from where we can see the clock in the hall while cooking or washing the vessels. My husband will be always sitting in the hall watching the TV or reading the news paper or conversing in a phone. So no need to keep a time piece in every room but we got 2 clocks as gifts apart from the one we bought, which we kept in the two bedrooms.

Yes clocks have their utility. They are found in every room in a house and are necessary. In fact many companies promote themselves by gifting clocks to their customers. So if you are in sales or marketing you may fall short of walls where you can hang those clocks.

Let's see, where do I start lol. Considering there is just me and my husband in this household I reckon we have far too many clocks! For example, in the living-room (2 rooms opened up into one) there are a total of 5 clocks! That includes a digital clock in the bottom right hand corner of my computer-screen (obviously, the most accurate), two analogue clocks that include one on the mantel and the other on the wall plus 2 more digital clocks on the VCR(!) and the Sky Digital TV menu!In the kitchen there are two digital clocks, one on the built-in electric oven (as there is a timer on it) and the other is on the microwave. There are another two digital clocks (both with radios) in our two bedrooms. So, let's see, how many in total? I make it NINE! No, hang on a minute, there's another digital clock on my iPod and yet another on my hubby's mobile phone....and yet another on our BT internet phone...that's 3 more!! A grand total of TWELVE CLOCKS! No it isn't! Hubby has an iMac...so that's yet another digital clock, so that's THIRTEEN CLOCKS IN TOTAL!! It's a good job they don't all tick, it would be like being in a clock shop hehe lol. Thanks for the discussion topic by the way and Happy MyLotting!

Hi neelima, I agree the time so precious and we should keep on with the same. In my opinion if the house is large then we need wall clocks in every room. In my native home the same rule exists but here we have a small house (only have two rooms) so we need only one wall clock The wall clock is safe at out home because it is not reachable by our kids (lol) time pieces are damaged by my kids and now we are depending on mobile for alarm.

yes! at my home i place clock in each and every room ,their behind two reasons one most important is that time(sec/minute/hour) is precious once gone it never come back,According to One very famouse phares Time never waits for any one,So we ought to give respect to time and follow it with punctuality. Other reason is that i like so many models of clocks. :) Thanks

Hi. We put clock in almost every room of the house. The biggest wall clock is in our living room. The two bedrooms also have alarm clocks each. We also have a digital clock in the study room. I think the only room without clock is the restroom. Clocks are very important to us in accomplishing and monitoring our daily activities.

I agree with you. Timing is an indispensable part in our everyday life. But I do not have a clock in any of my rooms. I do wear a watch. But I do not feel comfortable to wear it all the time. I check my cell phone, or my radio or computer for the time. I mean there are more appliances which can tell the time, there is not necessary to hang a clock in a room. The clock for people around me is more decorative than functional.
