I guess I am quite dependent on the internet.
Thanks to the search engine, the first reaction when I meet something I can not solve is to check from the internet. for example, if I face a topic that I don't have any idea about what to say, I would read posts from other people first, then decide how to organize my own.
Internet is also a wonder way to get rid of loneliness. Yes, we do have friends, families, siblings and so on, but friends can not always be around, so are families.
Inevitably, I habitually turn on my pc when I am idle. In fact, it is ver rare that I don't turn it on for more than 24 hours.

The addiction is quite variable for me. I can go on without a computer, really. But the thing is when I turn it on, I just can't turn it off.

i'm not sure the amount of time i spend on the internet is addiction per say but rather due to the fact that it is my only source of income (i'm a 16 year ld student after all).

I don't think I have an internet addiction. Some days I don't even go near the computer! I do use the internet to make money, though. I do many things that help me earn money for my family. But, I don't think I am addicted. I do use the internet to keep in touch with my family and friends. I think it is a great way to know all about what is going on in their lives.

Oh yeah, I am addicted for sure.
I run my business online, so I am on it every day, but also find myself on the internet most evenings and during the weekends too. I am looking forward to a break from computers when I travel down to see my family for a few weeks at Christmas time!

I think i am becoming an internet addict too since i tend to miss it when i'm not online. My day is just not complete without going online. I guess we owe to the vast information you'll find online. It's so many that you can't have enough of it. Cheers!

I can be happy with or without, but we all are depending on Internet for different reasons. I have to use Internet at work, sometimes I am so tired looking at the screen at home. I like to limit myself with Internet time, so I have to to do what I have to do at home, read good books and walk with my dogs.

Yes I must admit I am addicted to the internet! The hammer slams on the judges table. Guilty as charged! I have to be addicted to the internet. It's the only way I can fly all over the world without leaving my room. The quickest and easiest way to immediately find anything is online. Besides, it's part of my job as a web developer! Cheers!

Yeah I would definitely say that I'm an internet addict but with the computer being one of the most revolutionary inventions I think that man has ever created I really don't blame anyone for being addicted to the internet. There is just so much you can do on the internet like play online games, talk to your friends, go on social networking sites, sell and buy things, earn money online, research information, watch movies, download music, and much much more. I'll probably be a pretty hardcore addict to the internte for quite some while.

Hi friend.I am totally dependent on the internet and my routine starts and ends with the internet.I usually check my mails starting from the morning till evening.I also do a lot of internet related work till night.I am fully addicted with internet and there is no way to come back from here.I daily spend 8-10 hours on internet. My basic work on internet is my official work.Besides that i would also do a lot of fun on the internet like chatting with my friends, working on Mylot and on other money making websites.I could not stay away from internet for a single day.Its my life. Its giving me bucks to earn, how can i live away from it.There are days when i worked for more than 15 hours without any break on the internet. Its my passion and i love to be online.I work on money making websites when i came back from my office.I love to make money online. That's it my friend.
Happy Mylotting.

Yes, I do, and I believe that the internet is much more better than the television. FOr one, you have to use your brain to use the internet, but if you watch TV, you use a percentage (I forgot... around seventeen percent?) less brain power than doing nothing. THe internet also lets you learn and earn money, while TV does not. When I get my own house, I probably won't by a TV anyway. :P
Internet's better. :) And it may be addictive too, but for me, in a good way (debatable).

I think addiction is different from normal use. When you are addicted with something or anything there is already a feeling of excessive want, that without it you will do everything to get it and to be satisfied. Not unlike in a normal use wherein you do not really depend that much on a certain thing, yes i use internet as a helpful tool for social connections and important researches for easy work, but i can still do things without depending much on it.To be an addict is not normal.

There is a big difference between using the computer and relying on it from having an addiction. If you pay your bills online you have to pay them, but nobody would say you are addicted to bill-paying! So it is odd for them to say we have addictions to the internet. But if someone is playing games (not for money) and they cannot stop to make dinner or clean the house or care for their children, or study for exams, that is an addiction. I think far more people are addicted to television than to the internet though. I hardly ever even turn on the tv.

I love the internet! I can't imagine life without it.
I use the internet far too much. Usually chatting to friends that live on the other side of the world. It's great!

I definitely agree with you there magic9, i hardly watch TV anymore because of the internet. Before i'm a text or cellphone freak, but now I could honestly say that was a thing of past already....because nom i'm an internet monster. Some people say how someday libraries will be obsolete not to mention even books because of the internet. The world is accessible now that we have this technology to chat, skype, and even email to people abroad. Worst of all, snail mails are starting to get really boring due to the fast delivery of messages thru emails. You can even purchase ttuffs without even goin out the corners of your house. With the event of freelancers and home-based work, someday people may not find any reason to go out anymore.
