I have had both my parents for my whole growing up years, but when I was 2 weeks from my 44th birthday in 1996 my father passed away, and presently my mother resides in a nursing home and has caretakers because she sadly has increasingly become afflicted with dementia and doesn't remember anyone, so in a sense I've lost both my parents, and I too consider myself very blessed, because I had my two loving parents who did everything they possibly could to take care of their 7 children and their memories will be with me for as long as I will be able to remember them. That's a good thing. Thank you for asking.

Sorry about your Dad and Your Step dad, but it’s great to hear that your mother is doing great. The fact that she is to wed in January says it ALL. She is not ready to give up. May she be happy. Thanks for your response

I know how you feel, for I too lost both my parents. Sorry for your loss; I would also give anything to be able to see and be with my parents again, but I guess the only way is to join them... Thanks for your response

What I wouldn’t give to be able to be with them again. As far as totally respecting both of them, You and I are the same. I’ve seen some people that treat their parents as if they were garbage. I feel sorry for those people. Thanks for your response

I honestly couldn't imagine not having either of my parents. My dad recently lost his father, and sometimes he just breaks down crying in the middle of a meal or some other activity. But we all have to move on, I guess. My mother is on the verge of diabetes and I don't really know if it's fatal or not, but I've been pushing her to go running with me once in a while.
