Hi all! I know Christmas is fast approaching. My elder sister who used to stand up our own Christmas tree is not on the country anymore so I guess I have to stand it by myself. I am excited but can't think of any design for now. And I need your help.
Though we have the same Christmas tree every year, we make sure we decorate it different. Our last year's decoration was some kind of glittery stuffs. We put big and small glittery poinsettias on it, and run with a silver ribbon. On the top of it is a big silver star. We didn't put light anymore. This was my sister's design.
Can you give me a suggestion on what design should I use for our Christmas tree?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Yan, how my mom decorates her trees every year and how I am planning on decorating this year is by a certain color. My mom's whole entire tree this year is going to be like red and gold and so she gets ornaments and things matching to this color.
Another good color together I think is gold and silver, I think that is real pretty together.
This year if we put up a Christmas tree, we're still debating it, since we maybe going back to my hometown for Christmas, not sure yet, then we won't do a Christmas tree. But the colors that I thought for my tree this year, we have to go buy a tree so I wanted something different, we're looking to get a white Christmas tree and I'm thinking of decorating it with gold.
Try doing your tree in some sort of color.

Hi trish,
Have you not stand your Christmas tree yet? I think white tree will look good in gold.
What I have is from casinocat's suggestion above. It was made of red and gold.
I had strings of balls in red and in gold too. There are also ribbons of red and gold with pearls added to it. Its just as simple as that.
What I have for christmas lights is white so it will not look like an over decorated, over in color christmas tree

That's why I did stand ours since Christmas s really fast as what you have said.
I guess your husband is right. What's the use of your Christmas tree anyway, if you're not gonna be at home in Christmas?
It makes sense Why do you want a tree anyway

Many people like to use a color theme, or two colors - I have seen red and gold, and blue and silver. And some others:
Ivory doves and gold ornaments, strings of ivory pearls, strings of gold balls.
Christmas cookies and cookie cutters hung by red ribbons.
Moons and stars. (with white or blue lights)
Fruits and berries.
Ornaments that look like candies.
Snowflakes, icicles, silver accents.
I love to see the creative themed trees, but I no longer do them. When I put up a tree, I just put up lights and a bunch of old-fashioned shiny ornaments, like in my childhood.

Sorry I can't help much we have the same ornaments we put up every year. I hand the kids the decorations now and they hang them however they like, my two older kids ae 12 and 13 so they do a nice job. How about a 12 days of Christmas theme. I always think that stars look really pretty on a Christmas tree as well.

Well, it depends what you are looking for, can you be more specific? Also depends whether you want it to match with some more Christmas things like the nativity set or even a train around the tree :) I personally like to have mine really elegant. I usually put on gold with gold, I mean Gold spheres with gold lights and gold ribbons. You can also alternate to silver. Or if your tree is white you can try blue and silver, it looks lovely. Or you can get all crazy and trow in it a bunch of colored lights and ribbons & ornaments of all different colors!
Good luck and post a pic of your cx-mas tree it would be nice to see it!

I am looking for a design. It means anything to make my Christmas tree look good.
Anyway I have a green Christmas tree. Just the usual. Gold with gold? Does it will look like all gold? I have described the last year's design we had. Hopefully you can see that and you'll help me with it. Thanks!

I cant give any suggestions because we don't have Christmas tree in the house. It has been a family tradition not to put a Christmas tree in the house. What we have are Christmas lanterns. One of the reason that we don't put up a Christmas tree is it's hard to dispose after December compared to lantern. Cheers!

Hi ybong!
I agree, lanterns are easy to dispose after Christmas compared to Christmas tree. But we always have it stand during Holidays season. My sister is the one who is really doing it but I need to do it now because she is not here. We have several lanterns placed in our terrace already.
