One year back there was a PTC for which i had upgraded my account and taken a premium membership which cost me 19.95$. However, the site got closed within a couple of weeks. But to my surprise, My paypal account got debited with 19.95$ for renewing my membership fees at that site. Can you believe it? I mean how can anyone charge me for a membership at a site which does not exist.
I reported this to paypal, but they didn't listen to me. they just mentioned that since I am subscribed, the charges were cut. However, they asked me to contact the vendor but then there has been no response yet from them.
Isint it a fraud. I mean, atleast i should be asked to renew my membership and paypal deducted the amount without any prior notice or warning. And then they give me a diplomatic response.
What shall i do now?

obviously they will charge you. Why didnt you end your subscription in PayPal? You can end it by hitting 1 button...
These scam sites don't go 'down' just because they cant pay rent or anything.
What they sometimes do is they get a picture or banner saying 'Sorry The Site is no longer available' or whatever they want to say. The interesting thing is that they are not down at all. NOOO, the owner is happy cos u think its down and the subscription are closed down as well. but that is the point of the whole thing. He just waits 1 month and again some submission fees roll in for him and again and again, But when he bought his Ferrari (sarcasm) he will pay the rent no more so the site will actually be closed.
Have more luck in the future.

I'd definitely dipute the charge again. They can't just autodeduct for something that doesn't exist.

I would like to. But tell me a way out. Paypal has already given away saying that the transaction seems to be logical but they don't understand my point of view. I have tried to contact those people but as obvious, there is no response from them.
So I have given away the hope of getting my money back

Where shall i dispute it?
I raised the claim to Paypal but they said, that the transaction cannot be reverted. There has been no response from the charging party. How should I claim?

I have left all my hopes to get my money back. Paypal has already declined my claim. I have tried to contact the vendor but as expected there has been no response from their side. So, ultimately, I have lost my money.

Hi vipulchawla, open another paypal account with a different email address. :) Transfer the existing sums into new account. Everytime there is some credit, do that. Even smallest of change. At least that is the only way I can think out of any future losses.

I dont think that will be required. I have cancelled the subscription now.o next time I think I can definitely claim money from Paypal if anything similar to this happens next time.
