Can you think up of uses for old Christmas cards?

Store them for awhile and you will find something to make use of that in time. When the children were younger, I keep all nice pictures, cards, glossy magazine photos for future use. I got to use them in school projects of the children and I didn't have to buy from the bookstores for them.
For the Christmas cards that you are getting now, you can also cut them in smaller sizes and make into bookmarks. With the beautiful designs, these would surely come out very beautiful bookmarks. Have them laminated, bore a hole on top and slip a colored ribbon on it. For smaller cards, you can also cut them into pieces in a way to catch the good design, laminate, bore a hole, slip a chain ... these can be good key chain holders.

cut them in half at the fold (so that you have the back part with the writing and the front part with the picture on it.) The other side of the picture half should be blank, therefore you can write this years message. Voila, its a green christmas.

I put some of my more precious ones in a scrapbook or photo album so that I know where they are and in the future I can look back at them. I am a big scrapbooker so I use anything that I can, but when they have extra meaning it makes the scrapbook even more personal and precious to keep and share with loved ones. :)

I usually make a tree shape out of them on the wall or decorate a table with some. I have also in the past put some on the Christmas Tree. I just thought of this, you could also cut the picture and put them on a book cover that maybe boring or you could save them in an album to look over years later.

I know that there are alot of charitys that use then to cut out and make gift tags to sell as well as there are alot of my friends that do that as well. Also school like old christmas cards so that they can let the children use them to cut up and decorate things with them.

There are some charity organizations that collect them for crafts for kids. I think through the year, they have the kids cut out the pictures. And then at Christmas time they use the pictures to make their own crafty projects. If you can find someone who accepts them in your area, then you could donate them. If not, maybe you can look online for an address in which to mail them or just create some craft projects of your own.
