How do you report a scam?

As some of you may know that I have been looking for a Yorkie puppy. I had started a discussion about how I felt like that I had just missed on being scamed. Well today I went back to that site and put in the state that I live in. The site brought up several different puppies with prices ranging form $200-$2000 dollars. I started checking out some of them and found several that have the almost same ad as the one that I started with. I looked on the site for a way to report them but couldn't have link to go to. This is all new to me so....How do I report a possible scam going on with these people claiming to be sellers? Any information would help me greatly.

Thanks Hatley
How are you doing this evening? Good I hope. I had no clue to where I needed to go or how to go about doing it. I will report this guy as well as a few others from that site. There is just no sense in them doing this at all. Who knows how many others have took him up on this.
Thanks for the input and you have a great day.
Keep smiling my dear.

I suppose it might be overkill but if people really are essentially stealing $2000 from people, it might be worth telling the police. I don't know how much they could do about it, but at least then it gets the word out. You could also see if there is a way to leave a review or comment for the seller and say in your post there that this is a scam, that way you could warn the people who actually go and try to buy the puppy from the scammers. Good luck. Cheers!

A site known as ic3....is well known for reporting scam sites and people..but they take action only in particular countries..actually they send the matter to related department and then it depends on the department of your area if they take action or not...so u may try to report there..but not sure how much help you get through it...

I haven't read the other responses and you probably already got this answer, but... If you go to this site: http://www.consumerfraudreporting.org/reporting.php It has a list of places you can go to report a scam.

I am following on your discussion about this scam thing for puppies and really wondering how you can really go through about this. I don't have any idea on how to go about reporting this kind of scams or cases. I am browsing the net for this but i could not find one. how about connecting to animal organizations protecting rights of animals they might have suggestions on how to handle this and its process.

I can only suggest you contact the Better Business Bureau. Don't know if Craigslist is a reliable enough site to buy animals. I'd be afraid of exactly what you are going through or the fact the puppy might have something wrong with it. I know these dogs can be expensive but maybe a breeder is the way to go. Sometimes even the pet stores get dogs that have a good blood line but can have a problem. We bought a Pekingese years ago from a pet store, actually my husband bought him for me, and we thought he was just perfect. Wrong, he had several issues that weren't visable.

I have heard many stories about the pet stores. I hear that they get their puppies from puppy farms and that isnt good at all. I wont go there at all.
I would rather buy from a individual person. I tried to stay in my state and area and that is what caught me off guard with this guy.
Thanks for sharing the information and I just might get in touch with them.

one site i know is scams dot com once you join their forum, place an thread regarding this and they would take it from then and they have very good members who work with some of the companies which work to identify online fraud sites.so go there and mention about the site and fellow mylotters might have some other sites to which are similar to this so try to place an thread with al the sites so there site would be blocked.gud day.
