Are Your Pets "Psychic?"

My husband and I are going through some stress, and we had to purge some emotion this afternoon, or else the two of us would blow. Anyway, as we were sitting on the couch, holding eachother, and expressing how we felt about the current situation, our cat snuggled in next to us (right between us) and started licking our hands, and rubbing up against us. He always seems to know when something's going on, and how to make us feel "all better."

we also have cats .whity,browny.whity shows emotion like if we sometime ignore it ,then it starts saying meow as if it wants to say something.sometimes when browny tries to fight with it then it shows the sadness on its face.if we try to understand then we can know what the pets really want to say .

I agree that a lick from a cat can make one feel so much better. Hope your life unstresses soon.

I think cats can sense if something is not usual and try to ease the situation. Even my cat does not like If we raise our voice and talk. Immediately it comes to us and starts holding our hand or rubbing it's body to our legs. That brings our bad mood to normal condition.

awww The former roomie and I had a cat who would get worried when she cried and do things to try and make her happy. One night she just wasn't going to be consoled and Briar turned and hissed at me - obviously I must've been making "mommy" cry.

yeah. animals are intuitive. they feel it when you feel bad or sad, and need someone to talk to. if i feel in a weird mood, my current cat comes to sit in my lap and snuggle and cuddle with me. my late pets were the same way. if i looked distress about something, my current cat as well as my late pets would start worrying about me like something isnt right here. how can i make her feel better? all my pets i ever had were caring and loving, whether dog or cat.

I think that there may be some truth to this! Animals particularly dogs, they seem to have this sixth sense or something, they can sense when things are wrong and they then become all loving as you mentioned. I'm sure that pets were placed on this Earth for this very reason, to keep our spirits when we are at our lowest point! Andrew

I think most humans have a sixth sense but not all listen to it. Pets ,on the other hand, all have this sixth sense and they always listen to it.

my blue used to be a "mediator".he'd break up arguements by coming in and yelling. he was so funny raising his voice, most people'd be laughing instead. he was good at spotting when my mom was going to have a seizure beforehand too,it was amazing.

I'm convinced that they can sense our fears since my lab used to kiss me every time I was concerned about something.

I guess i wouldnt call my pets psychic but they do seem to know when something is wrong or upsetting me. I'd say though that comes more from body language and even smells or tones of voice over being psychic.

I think that my dog is hyper aware, but I don't think that he is psychic.

Yeah! i definately know about that.... When i would cry, my sweet puppy used to come and put his head on my knees, lick my hands and my face... i could always talk to him... and he listened! I would tell him about my day, my problems, my dreams, he always listened... and i swear he answered back, but only i could understand what he was telling me! I love my puppy so much! He's my best friend! And yes, animals are psychic... especially when you love them very much and care for them, when you have formed a special bond between you and your pet... they're there for you, listening to you, always wanting to make you feel better. Animals understand and feel a lot more than we think!

I do not think I would use the word "psychic" to describe my pets but I do think they are tuned to my emotions and seem to feel when I am sad or happy and respond to my feelings.

I don't have pets, but I have heard many stories of pets being in tune with their owners' emotions and even health issues and some remarkable things have been prevented because of it. I have read MANY things about pets saving their owners' lives because they are so "psychic" that they could "read" that there was something wwrong and were able to somehow let the owner know, even though the owner was unaware that something was wrong. I believe one story even said something about the owner not needing one of the health alarm buttons hanging around their neck, since the pet was much better!!

I am honestly convinced that my parent's dog is genuinely psychic, or at least is more intelligent than what I've given her credit for. Whenever there is an "atmosphere" in the household, such as an argument or confrontation, the dog will sense it and begin wandering around restlessly, scampering from person to person and curling up to them. Also (and this is perhaps what creeps us out the most about the dog), in the evening, the dog will approach the exact same spot, a corner near the fridge in the kitchen, and start barking at that general direction. She has done this before with a variety of other weird places, making me wonder whether or not our home is haunted by ghosts and spirits. I've heard many stories and rumours of dogs having a sixth sense, and I think I am starting to believe them.

I have this one story from my mom. She had fallen asleep and was having a nightmare when her favorite dog bit her just almost under her chest, which did wakes her up... Another was when I broke up with my high school boyfriend, my dog tried to cheer me up by doing tricks in front of me(rolling over, wants me to scratch his tummy, etc) while I was crying..I miss my dog/s....:(

I know that pet have another sense that us humans do not have. They can detect when something is wrong and when someone needs their help. They also can understand our communication with them. It seems that your cat defenetly noticed that there was something wrong so it wouldn't be a surprise to act in that way. My dog, he's a black spaniel and there is defenetly some link between what he's thinking and my mind. He always knows when something is wrong. Mind you, I love all animals and I believe all animals have the psychic link between themselves and us humans.
