getting jobs through networking

Last week I went to a networking Christmas Party to meet others who have the same credentials as me who speak about job openings or what their companies do. I met one woman who is the supervisor of a company that is a perfect match for me. I talked with her for a bit and she gave me her card. I told her I needed to work on my resume and cover letter and will send it out on Monday. How do you start a cover letter when you are not answering an add? I am sending her based on the positions the company offers and that I spoke with her.
