Considering the amount of talent and personalities in the celtics line up, they should be considered among the two 2 or 3 teams in the east. But a lot of factors will be considered for them to end up with the best record in the east. For one thing, they must remain healthy, injuries can be devastating for them. Second, how fast can they build a strong team chemistry with rasheed, the period of adjustment should not take so long since these guys are already very experienced especially playoff and finals experience. Also, another factor is how good can the other teams like cleveland and orlando get and how soon. For sure, all of these will be known before the playoff starts, there's still a whole lot of basketball ahead...

in my opinion celtics wont be the best.. my bet are the cavaliers.. eventhough the cavs lost on opening night to boston, maybe it was because they werent familiar with each others' playing style.. since 2 starters are new acquisitions in anthony parker and shaquille oneal.. so i guess both players are adjusting to mike browns playbook and of course adjusting to mo and lebrons style of play.. but i think the cavs are the team to beat in the eastern conference aside from the magic.. celtics are not really a threat now since their big 3 was beaten by the black mamba already this season.. 3 allstars carried the celts but in the case of the lakers there was only one.. and he was spectacular.. although im not a laker fan, im looking at this in a neutral way.. kobe was great in all games they have had with the celts.. i was amazed even when lakers had the celts to a game 6 in the finals.. now with gasol and bynum healthy and the acquisition of ron artest and the improvement of brown, farmar and all their bench guys, lakers would be pretty much a dominant team in the west..
