the Indian team deserves to be number 1 in the cricket world..not only the batsmen but bowler are also doing their job well..that is why they are number 1..

nowadays indian team is doing well in cricket. every players in the team has great talent i hope indian team will do better in the upcoming games also.

They have been doing well consistently and of course they deserve the first slot in test and in the coming days they would reign the ODI rankings too.Sehwag came with an excellent knock and Zaheer,Sreeshanth with excellent bowling spells and Dhoni has been in good touch so there is no way around to loose the first slot.gud day.

yes exactly india is no. one we won the srilanka series by 2-0 this is an achievement for us. and every indian should be proud of it.

Being an indian i would love to see the indian cricket team top the chart(NO.1). this side is pretty much a balanced side,i can say its the best player in the indian history that the selectors have produced. i would give full credit to sourav ganguly,because he is the one who laid the foundation and now dhoni handling it to perfection. batsman are doing well,but they need to improve feilding standards,so that they become the difficult team to beat.

Certainly they deserve Numero uno ranking. But there's still a lot of competition and if India continue to perform consistently, they can dominate the world rankings for a long time just like the Aussies who ruled the rankings for nearly a decade. To add to India's disadvantage is the fact that within 2-3 years the Terrific Trio of Sachin, Dravid and Laxman will hang their boots. Then will be the time when India would be tested the way Australia are now tested with players like McGrath, Gilly, Hayden retiring.

I think over the past decade or so, India always had great batsmen in the team. It has been more the emergence of the fast bowling pack that has put India at the top now. Zaheer has been impeccable over the last year or so. In between we have had bowlers like Ishant, Sreesanth and Nehra plugging away at wickets at the other end. Anil and Bhajji have been then turning the sides over. So it is this improvement that has prompted the rise of India to the number one spot which I think they deserve. Cheers! Ram

Yes I also Agree with you theat Indian Batsmen ar edoing pretty well. Even our bowkers are doing well in asian subcontinent pitches. But India has to improve his performance outside of Asian subcontinent. Then only India can retain no. 1 spot.

India definitely deserve the number one spot in the world because of the number of games that they play and the quality of the Indian batsman's. The top order batsman are in their peak form and Dhoni's captaincy is the major reason why India is number one. Lets see how long will they can retain their top stop like Australia.
