How are top discussions of a day chosen?

I was wondering, how top discussions of a day are selected by mylot? i've seen some of the discussions amongst those shown as the top in the home page have only three or four responses... oh, just now i have found one with only one response (http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2197844.aspx)... what makes it among the top discussions?
can someone please explain?

hi raisur that is another thing mylot admins does not let us in
'on at all. we are just as much in the dark as you are. they pick and choose and they do not tell us how at all. just enjoy and do not worry about it.you will endup there too one d ay as I have several times and you will also wonder why me?
