Do comic/anime superheroes really exist?

Somebody told me that what we see in movies depicts what had happened, what happens or what will happen in our lives. Then to me, it would mean that even superheroes such as superman exist. Would you share the same view? Or superheroes are just but a product of imagination. Moreover, which comic/anime superhero would you want to be, if given the chance.
