I have been wondering how we get stars from mylot. Others have stars while some don't have it. I have also noticed that stars given had a different numerical value...
What is the meaning of having a star and the numerical value on it?...
I just noticed that I've been given a red star with number 9 on it... what does this really means?... any idea especially to those who have stars with higher numerical value, how did you get that stars?... thank you in advance.

It is a way for other mylotters to see how well you have done. Other words, lets say that you have a 9 today and then you start a discussion or make a comment and some other mylotter didn't appreciate what you said then they can give you a negative rating. By getting this your number will go down. It is more a reputation on yourself. The thing to do is get to a 10 and try to keep it there. I think but don't take this as a sure thing but it might affect your pay rating..
Have a good day and keep smiling.

Oh I see.. thank you for that information. So the positive and the negative rating that other mylot member gives you can affect how the stars are given. Thank you once again. A happy day to you.

the stars are the ratings that other users have given you for your posts. Some will reat positive and others negative. You have a very star to begin with though, which means that you have had positive posts. I started with a 3, and it gradually went up to a 10, and I am happy with that, as 10 is the highest number you can get. Stars are only given to those users who have reached 100 posts. If you notice, there is a plus and a minus sign next to the discussion and responses. That is how users rate others. I usually only give positive ratings, as we are all trying to get as high as a rating as we can get. By the way, our ratings do affect our earnings, so you should make pretty good earnings with your 9. Also, when you post quality, you should get positive ratings as well. If someone doesn't have a quality response, then I don't rate them at all. Ratings is just a way to help others, and let them know we appreciate their responses. Good luck to you and happy mylotting.

that's krystal, rating others negatively would also affect you and your star. if you don't like the discussion or the response, it's better to leave it be. make sure you don't loose your number below nine or it will affect you and your earnings, of course if you focus also in having disputes with another mylotters.

hello krystal,
The Star actually speaks of your reputation here at mylot. that depends on how the other users criticize or judge you through your post and they do it to either positive or negatively rate you in the process. and besides, only users who have reached a hundred post can actually be shown a star. as for you, you can only put smileys once you reached two hundred post.

Oh I see, I am a little excited about this one. So when I reached two hundred post, I can now use those smileys... that's nice. But how come others had already reached a one hundred post but still haven't received any stars?...

Thanks for posting this Krystal, I was wondering the same thing. So when I reach 100 posts I will automatically get one? Also, does anyone know how much it affects pay, or is that one of the great mysteries of mylot lol?

stars refers on how good you are in commenting to such topic ., mylotters are giving you either positive or negative feedback ., then that's how star are being rated .,

From what I understand this is like a reputation rating. The more people rate your discussions or comments the higher your star gets...it also helps to rate others comments or discussions. I could be wrong but I believe that the higher your star rating is that more your get paid...but don't quote me on that because I could be wrong.
