Finally Moving Forward...

For the last 2 1/2 years I've been working at a job that (for the most of the time) I was unhappy at...I was working with dogs so that part of the job I loved! But I was working nights, which I grew tired of when I started missing out on family things... I had 4 different managers--the first was okay but wasn't there long, the second I didn't really know, the third was just awful...and the current one is actually the best one. She is super friendly and personable (unlike manager #3) and it kind of sucks that she is the one that was there when i quit. But I did it! I finally turned in my 2 weeks. In January I am going to start taking some classes! I've recently became interested in pursuing a career in Social Work (specifically one for children)...so I'm going to start off by taking English 101, Psychology, Child Development and a College Success class....then in the future I'll take a Social Work class, more psychology classes and things like that. I'm really looking forward to this next chapter in my life; even though I am SUPER anxious and nervous!!!!!!!!

That is good to hear. I am glad that things are advancing forward for you now. I know it is a long hard road to get to where we want to be, but it is worth it in the long run.

How exciting! Changing the course of your life is always challenging, but it sounds like you're ready for it. Since you know what you want to study, taking the classes for it will keep you focused, and being able to stay with your parents while going to school will certainly make things easier. Best of luck!

Yeah, I'm always nervous when I know something is going to happen or change. But once it becomes 'normal' in my life I feel much better about it. I'm sure that's how it is for most people! lol Thank you peavey!! :)

While I am glad you are moving on in your life, perhaps it would have been wiser to keep that job until you got through some of your classes. Unless of course you have another source of income.

I could never work nights and go to school during the days....that would kill me and I would do bad in school, which would just be a waste. My parents are letting me live rent free with them...so once I start school I won't have any payments to worry about.
