Michael Carrick Really Emulates Roy Keane Now

Hola Red Devils Fans! As you know, on yesterday match against West Ham, Michael Carrick was played as a Centre Back. And he managed to play really well against his old club. He really reminds me of Roy Keane now. He is really Roy Keane's successor. Wear the same shirt number 16, original position as central midfielder, great vision of passing. And now, he even can play on defender position. As we know, Ferguson often played Roy Keane as a defender, either a full-back or center-back on his prime time. I think the only difference between Roy Keane and Michael Carrick now only the temperament :) How do you think? Salute Sir Alex for great rotation! Salute Carrick for great versatility upon playing on defender position! Viva Manchester United!

I don't think we can start to compare Carrick with Roy Keane just yet. Yes, Carrick can play in different positions to suit team needs. But Roy Keane was much more, his presence lifted the Man U team like anything from any kind of depths. The opponents used to really fear Keane!! Carrick has a long way to go to reach that kind of a stature just yet. Cheers! Ram

Yep, never seen Carrick argue or make a lot physical contact with another player as Roy Keane did :p Regards

I think they have a little difference in leadership. No one can deny the great influence of Roy Keane in Man. United's midfield. He was a very strong leader. I think Michael Carrick should learn more about this. Anyway, for me, Michael Carrick is still a great player.

Not a little difference I think. Big big difference. I don't think Carrick have the potential to be a leader like Roy Keane, maybe not yet. Thanks for response :)

It was truly a typical Manchester United win. Everybody contributed and everybody performed when they were needed to. With the team gelling up together again, the Christmas would be worth a grand celebration this year end. With the absence of Ronaldo not being felt anymore in the United team and team is inching towards its magical form, the top spot is not far away. Its true Carrick is getting into that shirt no.16 pretty well, but what has been more important is the development of Darren Fletcher as a superb midfielder. He's shown immense talent and control in this season and I suppose he has more to come in this season and in future as well. With some more solid performances, Carrick would be getting into that World Cup England 1st team very soon. He needs to carry on the spirit and he has shown enough flexibility in performing the duties of a central defender with minimum fuss in the last game. Hope for the best, and lets keep our fingers crossed for the best of United.

Yeah! We will likely see Carrick in central defence once again next tuesday on trip to Germany against Wolfsburg. And yes, Fletchino has been the best midfielder United have last two season. It is very great to have such player with great versatility like Fletcher, O'Shea, Brown, Rooney, Giggs, and many other! It is also such joy to see many youngster have break through first team this season like John Evans, Kiko Macheda, Darren Gibson, Rafael, and also Danny Welbeck. Viva United!

I think he didn't make a big progress in these years. In other words, he can do more better than we wanted.

It's great to Michael Carrick in the team, and Gibson who is starting to show that he'll replace Scholes who's another Man Utd legend. Now we need a replacement for Giggs and Ronaldo.

Yes! We have a lot of talented midfielder. Anderson, Gibson, Hargreaves, Carrick, and Scholes all have been shown their abilities (soon we'll see Hargreaves!) and also we still have Rodrigo Possebon in Central Midfielder. For winger, we've got Antonio Valencia, very different player than Ronaldo. But he is very strong, quick, and have better deliveries. And guess what, Manchester United likely revert to their old style a little bit with many deliveries from right and left side. Compared it with strategies over last two season where they like to penetrate from side to center instead of crossing the ball. As for Giggs, I have high hope on Zoran Tosic. But lets not rush it, he's still developing! Viva United!

Well, they are totally different in style and character though. I still prefer the Keane type, Carrick tends to fade a way and doesn't stamp his authority in MF as much. Though he is a neat and tidy player, his form from the last three months has been considered poor for me. Still a great squad player to have though

Yeah I know. Carrick wouldn't really match Roy Keane. But watching his versatility, he is emulating Roy Keane in the past and they wore same shirt :) Last 3 months? I think he played arguably well. Making some slicing pass and even score goal to help Manchester United. Regards
