The LAW is the LAW

THE LAW IS THE LAW So "if" the US government determines that it is against the law for the words "under God" to be on our money, then, so be it. hmmmmmmmmmm not sure on this one And "if" that same government decides that the "Ten Commandments" are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it. I dont really care for this one at all I say, "so be it," because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen. and maybe NOT I say, "so be it," because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions. do ya reall think so? I would like to think that those people have the American public's best interests at heart. BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE? Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot post His Commandments in Government buildings,I don't believe the Government and its employees should participate in theEaster and Christmas celebrationswhich honor the God that our government is eliminating from many facets of American life. I would hate to see all our buildong defaced. I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter. After all, it's just another day. I'd like the" US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter as well as Sundays." After all, it's just another day. I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the "Christmas Break." After all it's just another day. I'm thinking that a lot of my taxpayer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime since those would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be "politically correct." YEah go to their paockets! In fact.... I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshipping God...) because, after all, our government says that it should be just another day.... What do you all think???? If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials will stop giving in to the "minority opinions"and begin, once again,to represent the "majority" of ALL of the American people. SO BE IT........... Please Dear Lord, Give us the help needed to keep you in our country! 'Amen' and 'Amen' Touche! These are definitely things I never thought about but from now on, I will be sure to question those in government who support these changes.. At the top, it says "I hope this makes its way around the USA several times over!!!!!" Let's see that it does.

That makes sense! If any mentioning of God is against the law then there should NOT be any government holidays celebrating anything Christian. I never thought of that before but it is a great suggestion.

well your logic is defiantly misplaced. Church and state should defiantly be separate when attributed to law making. You fail to realize that not everyone shares your religious beliefs. The way i see it you want everyone to conform to believing there is a god and they have to follow this god. Unfortunately that would go against the law of freedom of religion. The reason the government takes time off during the hollidays is not attributed to religion. First off thanksgiving is not even a religios holiday. Second if we followed the bible we would have a lot of people in jail missing body parts. Considering the bible claims an eye for an eye. The reason that they do take time off for the hollidays is because there are many people who do celebrate these hollidays and its just easier to take them off. Just so you know the post office does deliver gift packages only on christmas day. The reason government doesnt work on sundays is because noone should have to work 7 days a week. It would make little sence to hire people to work 1 or 2 days a week. Truly if you payed any attention to religious trends you would see that less and less people claim a religion. Just so you know you can pray to god anytime you want, to yourself. There is no law preventing you from that. You can also trust in god too, to yourself. There should be no reason that anyone should have to trust or pray to god if they don't want to. You are looking at this way too one sided and that one side is your own. Your probably saying right now oh another anarchist, well you would be wrong there im agnostic. I feel that there is no wrong religion, each religion has its pluses and minuses. I just dont feel that one religion should be considered better than any other. Now answer me this, would you feel offended if we changed it to "In Allah We Trust?" The government is not out to get you, by the way. The reason they are considering this is actually not because of the government but because of US citizens saying that it shouldn't be there. You have to remember that the government makes laws to keep the public happy. Unfortunately sometimes that makes other people unhappy. All in all do some research you'll find that there are several groups outside of the "evil" government that are the backbone of all this.

thanks for your responce . I am just saying that WE shouldnt listen to the ones that want to take the owrd God out and off things that have been there for @00 years. and Yes I might beoffended if the put that on American money! I do know that the post office does deliver on Christmas BUT they didnt use too. I am not attacking any religion here of course we are a big pot of all religions and culture more now than ever . But if the government wants to listen to the 14 % that want to deface every thing then they shouldnt have a day off. Thats all I said!

Hi U can't see me: i respect your point of view. In fact i beleive and i think in every democratic country there must be a complete separation between politics and religion BUT i agree with the topic starter when mentions that Christianity is the majority religion beleive in the US. I don't think that a public demonstration of these beleives should disrespect jews, muslims, budhists, atheists, etc; my own beleives are not an insult to the other's beleives. Of course they must have their own public spaces to show the way they think, their views, etc. About your question, i won't be offended to listen In Allah We Trust if we'de be in a muslim country. In fact most of the muslim countries support their beleives and express the religion of the majority of their citizens in public. Alvaro

yeah, and if they Muslims want off on Friday, then they should work Saturday and Sunday Besides, the Feds REQUIRE home health people to work on Holidays, they should be REQUIRED to do so as well!

I'm an home health aide and I don't get paid one red cent extra to work holidays - the hospitals do that to keep employees - home health companies hire the lowest paid, lowest trained, even borderline retarded people to work for them and pay them minimum wage - I'm only doing it because I need a job and I need it to be flexible while my mom is alive.

Keeping religion out of government. I am not a religious person so none of this means a hill of beans to me but I think that how things used to be was very nice and gave us all a feeling of contentment and peace. If there was some really good and defining reason behind not having things the way they were then I would perhaps feel differently but there isn't. Just a bunch of people in high places that wants to pretend like they are doing something wonderful and are not. Most people in this country believe in a God and they need him around to feel balanced. This just causes upevil we really do not need.

Well said, Lakota. And I totally agree. And since the new President has declared the White House will do a non-religious/inclusive Christmas (excluding anything Christian ironically) I think they should stop spending $50,000 on each White House Christmas party (which apparently are many). By the way, I'm pretty sure that the Ten Commandments are engraved in the Federal Courts still, but perhaps we shouldn't remind them just in case they get rid of that. Also, I believe that Moses himself is carved in stone while all the other federal judges face him. In any case, thanks for this post . . . good one!!!

Hey Lakota! I would have to agree with you on this one! It is true that those in the Government are truly hypocrits when they make the laws! You are right in your explanations! One minute they say that "God" can't be here or there, but in the next breath they say or do the opposite! I like your idea about making them work on the "Holidays" since they really aren't into promoting anything "Godlike"! So, if that's the way they truly feel the why not make them work on all the holidays and on Sunday (day of worship)! I wish they could see your discussion! It makes sense to me! Good one Lakota! Hugs, Opal

Hi Lakota: i think as much as you do that to be politically correct the governement shouldn't insult the beleives of the majority of the citizens. At the same time i don't think that, expressing my Christian, Catholic beleives should insult someone that doesn't make part of this beleives. I beleive in freedom of speech and i respect the other's religion values but i think as you do that some of these persons try to delete my own beleives that it's intolerant. Thanks for making this statement and for opening this discussion i find your suggestions simply nice. Have a nice day. Alvaro.
