I will give you my personal experience. I just graduated in August with my AA in Business. I never went to a class in school never had to drive to school and sit in front of a teacher that can be borinor even rude. I can't sit in a class and listen to someone talk as i would fall asleep and be tired after. I will say that there are time limits on things and ever other week i had a test such as a midterm exam or the final exam. You will have assignments that are due on such dates and if you dont turn in your work online you will get a zero in the class or for the assignment.

If we talk about the basic education then it should be or rather it must be in traditional school. As it needs physical attention and sharing of ideas with mates. But if you talk about the professional studies it can be done online. sitting in front of PC.

If you study on-line (courses or for bachelor degrees) you don't have to go to classes, but arrange your own timing, This is good if you are working and wants to study in the evening. And it's cheaper. You can also choose from the various universities/college from USA or Europe. But you will miss the networking which you only can get when studying in a traditional school. So it depends on yourself whether you like being behind the computer and studying alone, or do you want to meet new people.
