What do you do on a typical weekend?

Do you still work online? Do you go out with the family? Do you have a cozy day with a nice homemade meal? What other things do you do? In my country we usually celebrate birthdays on Friday nights or Saturday nights so that we don´t have to get up so early the next day. Yesterday I went to a birthday party. It was wonderful! My friend had her 50th birthday and said she was NOT going to cook for everyone and be tired in her party so they bought a huge paella at a nice restaurant. My friends´s husband, whose mother is from spanish origen, also made wonderful spanish tortillas (fried onins, fried potatoes and chorizo) for beginers. We ate, drank and talked until 2 AM. My friend´s daughter is a thather actress and she made a show for us with three of her friends. For me sometimes it is a friend´s birthday, sometimes a family birthday. THere are a few weekends that I just stay home. Then I talk to Lola, my dog, watch TV, do some gardening and post here. Share your ways of using your time off. Do you have fun? Are you mailnly bored? Take care, every one!

Hello Marguicha That sounds like you have really been enjoying yourself this weekend, but also brought some good memories to your friend by celebrating her birthday. On a regular avarage weekend i will mostlikely be somewhere away from home shooting a competition (im a target shooter at international level), which can be local but also in other countries, next weekend i will be in Germany and in 1½ weeks i will be in Luxembourgh. So i get to see some of the world :)

Hi Downwindz, My late husband was a professional soccer player when he was young. He got to see many countries that way. I hope you do well in the competition. I know from my experience as the wife of someone who loved a sport how important it is.

Thanks, and im lucky to have a boyfriend that shoots for fun, so he complelty understands my business when im away, and he respects me for it. It is certainly very important for the relationship that you respect and understand each other with what you do. My boyfriend when possible even goes with me to the competitions to back me up, and im most greateful.

It sounds like you are spending your time pleasantly enough! As for me, I suffer from major depression and tend to isolate A LOT! As a result I rarely go anywhere unless I'm with my housekeeper. She takes me to the store, doctor appts and to the vet for Mija (my furbaby) Usually on Saturday evenings I go to Movie Nights in my apartment complex. A fellow tenent hosts a movie night every Saturday from 6pm to 12am or 1am. Normally, he shows about 3 movies and I stay for 2 of them. I make it to most movie nights and it gets me out. I do love movies and it also gives me a chance to socialize a bit. More often than not I just stay in during the weekend days and spend time on my computer and watch T.V. I do this during the week too unless I need to go shopping, to the bank have a doctor's appt or taking Mija to the vet. I'm not complaining. Years ago I used to go to a particular coffee house and drink Italian Sodas while playing solitaire or just sitting and relaxing. Who knows? Maybe I'll get to the point where I will be able to do that again. Purrs, Catwoman=^..^= & Mija

We normally have my Dad over for a meal at some point,if my husband is off at the weekend we go shopping or do diy.like you maybe a birthday party or event. If my husband is working then I catch up with the house work ,garden and generally keep busy ,doing the chores I did not do when he had his time off in the week.Sometimes it is just nice to lay in bed and do nothing. My son is 16 so he can look after himself now.It is the first time for 34 years I have had the chance to be lazy and to be honest I am making the most of it.

I'm Spanish, so I can tell you that a spanish tortilla doesn't neccesarily have chorizo, only potatos and eggs are mandatory, and then you can add anything else you want to . My weekends are pretty different from one to another. I hate staying at home not doing anything, so I will be lazy until noon and then go out. If I don't go out with friends or my boyfriend, I will go out by myself to visit some place that I might still not visited

I know, but my friend makes it with chorizo and I love it. I usually make the tortilla without chorizo (I don´t always have it because if I buy it, I eat it right away). As for onions, I have never had a spanish tortilla without onions. They had onions all the tortillas we had the times we went with my husband to Spain and went for tapas y vino. I always get up late too as I´m a nightbird. Take care!

Your answer about the guitar reminded me of my youth. I got together with a couple of friends and we would talk and play guitar, ofter seated on the floor. Noe my eldest gradson does the same. Have a lovely weekend!

I enjoy my time off and usually just relax. Most of the time though my girlfriend and I go out to either window shop or just to shop period. Every once in a while we go out to see a movie or stay in to just play video games. In truth, I just like staying home with my girlfriend because I don't see her most of the day since she works a full 8 hours and I'm still in college. Tuesdays and Thursdays we barely see each other because I'm gone at 9 and so is she and she comes home at 4:30, that's when I leave for class. I don't get back till 8 most of the time. The weekend is our time to catch up.

I usually get up turn on the TV and then my computer. I do not work but my husband does so I weekend I cook a big lunch for us. Then we work on a puzzle together when I get tired of doing it I will turn my computer back on and the TV which I usually have on while I am on the computer during the week. I like some noise when I am home alone. Once in a while we will go out to eat at a restaurant on the weekend.

a typical weekend for us is always like this for saturday -- waking up late, cooking breakfast and lunch together--brunch i mean since we get up late, take a shower, dress up and go to shopping mall for our weekly grocery, dine out and sort groceries at home. in the evening we watch tv together and share funny stories, while i am also doing mylot. sunday--same waking up late, brunch, shower, dress up for church, lunch out and after lunch- back home. prepare uniforms, review and answer assignments and homeworks, watch tv and eat together for dinner.

I am more like you, then! I seldom stay at home at weekends. I mean, I have schoolworks and stuff to do at home but I make it a point that I go out and get some fresh air before I start with my work. I only go online at night and sometimes I even cram during Sunday night because I did nothing but hang out during Saturdays! Haha. I know it's not that good for a student but I also have to do some things besides studying. I still have a life, you know! Hahaha. Anyways, I hope that you continue to enjoy your weekends as much as I do. Sometimes I even wish that I have a lot of free time to try out other stuffs. Take care! :)

I divide the weekend between myself and the family. First, a day or two before the weekend begins, the family sits together in the evening and plans what we are going to do. Of course the kids get to speak first and tell us their preferences. Then my wife lists out things that need to be completed like shopping for essential items and other important things that need to get done. Once the kids and wife have spoken, the I lay out a plan - usually I plan it in such a way that we are able to get everything done over Saturday and first half of Sunday so that we have time on Sunday evening at home. Once the family's plans have been made for the weekend, I squeeze in my time when we are at home so that I can write articles, browse the web and spend time on MyLot! Usually, the family outing includes a movie, some recreation and a bit of shopping.

Hi! On a typical weekend I get at about 9:00 or 9:30 up and go on a walk. After that I go shopping the things I will need for the next two days- Saturday and Sunday. I buy food, some snacks, something to drink, all the things I need. Than I go home and watch some TV, read some magazine, surf over the internet or cook somethings delicious. On Sunday I usually stay at home and relax- reading book and watching TV. So I spend a typical weekend.
