What are you doing for Yule this year?

I'm just curious what others are doing for Yule or Solstice this year? We are keeping it very simple. A little baking, a little crafting, looking at lights. I'm hoping it will snow, but I doubt it will.

I am keeping it pretty simple too I am not much of a baker but I will probably attempt to bake something my kids celebrate Christmas so I will be pretty busy getting ready for that so I wont have alot of time to devote to Yule I do have one craft that I will be trying to get done there will no doubt be a private prayer/meditation session at some point during the day and then I may take the kids out for a drive to look at lights around town

Can I ask if it is difficult when you and your kids celebrate different things? Mine are still very young, so they do whatever I do. I try to incorporate lots of little traditions from many holidays around that time, but it can be a struggle when they just want the typical Christmas with Santa like everyone else.

I am a witch but my husband is Methodist I try to teach my kids many different beliefs not just mine or "dad's"my kids are old enough to choose what they want to believe (or not believe) 4 out of my 5 kids choose to be Christian and the other is agnostic my husband doesnt allow the kids to learn anything more than the basic fundamentals of my beliefs until they are at least 10-12 my oldest who is now 14 was given the chance to learn basic spell casting and other such subjects but declined because she didnt feel comfortable with doing witchcraft and thats fine with me it is difficult sometimes and sometimes it does feel like the Christian holidays over shadow my own but I always find time for my practices when it doesnt interfere with all the other stuff going on in the house. (usually after the kids are in bed and hubby is at work.

Well Yule is also my wedding anniversary but either way I have no clue what, if anything, we are doing...I'll be busy from now until the 26th with Xmas crap so each day is pretty much a play it by ear sort of thing...

I don't celebrate Yule and even though I know there is no biblical backing of Christmas in the bible and it was a pagan holiday I still celebrate it with my pagan tree and idol worship of Santa....LOL. Seriously though I think it had to have been invented by someone who hated their parents and never wanted parents to get any credit for gift giving.
